The great thing about getting the golden lure is that it ISN’T a 5-consecutive-day reward. You just get it after sending 5 postcards at your leisure!

No shiny Hitmontops during the event, but one of the ones I caught was almost a perfect 4* so there's that. Do to having to be at work for most of the event I wasn't able to complete the research challenge, but I was able to get about halfway through give or take.
I got a shiny hitmonlee and and a perfect 1950cp hitmanchan

Meltan is always 3 XL candy because of being a mythical. A mega would boost the xl chances still. But it isn't needed with how easy you encounter them ^^
I feel like the galarian birds are harder to get then this. This is guaranteed. It may take time but it’s guaranteed

During the hitmontop event my friend and I managed to both get shinie hitmontops from both of our first encounters. His sucked, but mine was a 96!

Well also in this hitmontop research event I got 2 shiny hitmontop, 1 shiny hitmonchan, 98% hitmontop and a 96% hitmonchan so yeah I got a lot from this event
I got two shiny hitmontop, two shiny hitmonchan, a 15/15/14 Hitmontop yesterday. I also got a XXS Shiny Rockruff from daily incense yesterday.

You can also trade a gimmghoul. I sent one to my daughter the other day. Also, it’s kind of satisfying having two shiny hitmontop, something a player of your Calibre doesn’t.

If a lure is on a team rocket stop, spin, then defeat team rocket grunt/leader, spin again. Defeating grunt/leader resets the stop right away.
I’ve got 2 shiny Hitmontop’s on out of that mini event and the other one during a Pokémon go fest 2022
First of all from the hitmontop missions I got 3 shinys and second of all the spinda you got from the Hoenn tour was a shiny one for me

I have like 3 hitmontops and one could’ve been a hitmonlee. I hate hitmontops because I had a Hundo Tyrogue and it became that.

You first tweeted that you'd be luring the pier around 3-4pm so that's when I showed up. You then tweeted you wouldn't be there until around 5pm but then didn't tweet again that you'd actually lured 3rd St until almost 6pm. I waited so long my battery nearly died so I left. 😡

I went Gimmighoul hunting yesterday and as soon as I left the park, I found a Hundo Gimmighoul
I got to stage 8 of the quests and the best I got was 2 normal 98 IV hitmontop
My Catch Mastery was kinda meh but did get a shiny hitmontop from research not the given research just research that I spun from a PokeStop which was my one and only research I got.

You missed one of the tricks of the Golden Lure. If the Lure has a Grunt, you spin on it first, get the coins, defeat the Grunt, spin again, and you get more coins. You're welcome ;)
