It's finally on. Range testing will begin this week. Stay tuned! And I can't say it enough. Thanks to Jerry over at GRS and the guys back in Norway for the help. If there is a way for me to make things unnecessarily difficult, I'll find it. Turns out, this wasn't hard at all. ;-) -Marky
Just finished setting up mine 08June20. No washers supplied with mine, so I figured to use the factory washer to secure the front of the Blaser receiver. After gradually torquing it down as you did, there is no binding of the bolt carrier as you experienced. Maybe they’ve changed machining tolerances to allow the use of the factory washer. No specific instructions supplied for the install, figured it out with the use of your vid and common sense. Pew pew tomorrow. 6.5x55 and 300WM match barrels. PM II’s and Fortmeier bipod.
Cool! The GRS Chassis is a game-changer for the Blaser systems. You will throughly love how comfortable it is. And...if you need to attach items like lights, lasers, NV, etc? It’s THE way to go. We are on the range tomorrow with ours. A custom 7.5x55 barrel. Suppressed. Keep in touch, Bevan, and tell me how it goes. Marky
John1911 Gun Blog the 6.5 barrel went 0.3 MOA all day on our plate at 565 yds, running 139 Scenars. 300WM was rubbish. Will pull the remaining 208 amax’s and run Bergers
@@John1911 thanks for the reply yes it does help allot my other question is the R8 receiver when you get it from and how much would it cost? Best regards Romeo
Looks great John. Is that block that protrudes from the bottom of the chassis (the fin shaped thing) that the pistol grip attaches to part of the chassis? Is it by chance removable? Still waiting for Euro Optic to release them, hopefully my project to convert them to a mag feeder is viable. Still not 100% sure if it will work.
I do not. Didn’t think to weigh it. But...I could probably deduce it by weighing gun and subtracting chassis published weight. The aluminum block doesn’t weight much at all. Marky
@@John1911 Hi Marky, if you could do that would be great ! Ragnarok stock is 2.036 kg + trigger block with loader 120 gr + action block is 470 gr , so if you can let me know which weight you have without barrel and eventual accessories we can find out weight of blaser receiver block . I was thinking around 200 gr upon other reserach , let me know if i'm right ? . looking on gaining weight building in a custom model. Many Thanks Max
Did you do one for removing the receiver block from the Blaser stock. I just talked to a guy who said a gunsmith told him it was very difficult that the block was epoxied to the stock and it was a mess. Got it out but the block was messy. I found this video from 4 years ago but wondering if things changed. th-cam.com/video/86Bd5GBqIjM/w-d-xo.html
John1911 Gun Blog I am in the market so just want to make sure it is doable. Both Cove Creak and Top Dog dealers seem to have concerns and believe it is an issue to get the block out.
There is no epoxy on our R8 synthetic professional stock. You have to “pop” the medallion on the pistol grip to get to a screw head. But no epoxy on OUR block. But I’m not a dealer and maybe something has changed? Marky

Really nice video thanks for taking the time to make it just wanted to know who sales the Chase block and how much the cost of it.
Best regards

The Chassis is made by GRS Riflestocks in NORWAY. They have a dealer list on their website.
Does this help?

The R8 is made by a company in Germany called Blaser GMBH. AFAIK, they only sell complete rifles.
In the US, they are over 4K.

Great installation video. Do you know if this chasis is compatible with a left hand bolt rifle?
It works for both. Glad you liked the video.

It is removable by the looks of it. I can check later if you like?

BTW...I’m getting emails weekly on the Tac2 mags. Any word on that?

@@John1911 It looks completely dead. The Democrats successfully stopped all ITAR and USMIL reforms about a month ago, and that means it's curtains.
Ok. I’ll start letting people know who inquire.

Chris, hi.
I'm still waiting for you to finish your project and sell me a hundred mags. :)

There was no epoxy under my block. I doubt there is any epoxy.
What stock do you have? Synthetic professional or a wood one?
Marky
Brandon Hartsell if you want, feel free to email me a pic of your block. I’ll walk you through it.
