I understand exactly what Charlie was talking about at the end there. Its those little nuances in other musician's playing that is cool and unique but it can throw you off your game if you aren't careful.

Right on been followers BBS for years saw them in Tempe AZ in 18. Theses guys as a whole ROCK from country to cover songs. Can’t wait to see them again. 😊 Charlie is one of the best no ego just a down to earth musician.

I've been a long time fan of Hall & Oates, but oddly enough, I am a huge fan of Blackberry Smoke. I had the fortune, to meet Charlie and the rest of the band at one of the concerts they did close to me here where I live. All of these guys are fantastic musicians, but they are far better people.
I had a chance to talk to them one-on-one, during a meet and greet after the concert. Which by the way, they donate all proceeds from these meetings, to the Atlanta children's hospital. Not too shabby huh?
But honestly some of the best musical advice that I got, was from Charlie Starr. I had some questions regarding performance fright, and kind of went into what I was doing. Henceforth the sunglasses on my face. That advice that Charlie gave me was very simple, but it reminded me that sometimes the answer lies right in front of our face, and in this case literally. Those simple words, "go with what you know".
I'm glad that these two got together, I was a little skeptical about how it might sound, knowing that their styles are different, but I thought they pulled it off rather well.
Keep rocking, and made the good Lord keep you all.
I got to meet Charlie & the band after an awesome acoustic show in Lexington!! Seen them a bunch of times and love them live!!!

No disrespect to Daryl Hall, but I think Todd Rundgren might have the edge on that, he is an absolutely phenomenal musician, on several instruments, as well as producing his own material. I think Mr Hall might agree too.

@@lolodee3528 absolutely no disrespected intended. I grew up with Hall & Oates. They belted out some of my favorite tunes. Sarah Smile, is one of my absolute favorites. I would love to be as talented as any one of the three. Hall, Oats, or Rundgren.
I saw blackberry smoke I’m guessing ten or so years ago and was blown away with Charlie’s talent! And Daryl’s goes without saying!

Yeah, Charlie's a hell of a guy, on and off stage. I don't know if you've ever had a chance to see blackberry smoke in concert, but if you have and it sounds like you may have, then do it. In my opinion, they are very true to their sound. Meaning, if you listen to them on the stage, or on an album, you hear the same exact music. These guys are really, really good.

good grief chuck is such a monster on that 6 string, great voice great vocalist, most certainly give Godzilla run for his money... for a better understanding just who Charlie is on the six string and where he comes from musically go find the "wowed by a les paul" video, there without even trying his prowess oozes out into this amalgamation of licks and riffs that makes the hair on your arms stand tall and salute the goodness that is charlie starr and rock and roll!
