2 year old vid. Watched a few of your vids now. Trying to backtrack ur other vids. The egr capping and vacuum line deletion. I'm currently rebuilding my Ka on my s13. Been looking through TH-cam tracking down mods and other tricks. But without ur other vids, I'm not sure how you chose which vacuum lines were safe to remove without causing issues. Could you dig through your archives and toss them into a proper folder so I can binge watch them? Lol
There's not many you need if you end up removing the intake butterflies. It's much easier to clean up the vacuum lines with the intake manifold off (lot of them run in between the upper and lower halves). I'm not running egr or charcoal can, any of that. I'd have to physically look but beyond vacuum for the fuel pressure regulator and obviously the brake booster, a lot of the others can be capped.
Great video! Just got 1971 Datsun 510 for my birthday that needs an engine. Haven't owned one for 35 years! (yes I'm old) I can get a KA24DE from a 2000 Altima or a frontier. Would you know if Altima engine bolts up to 5speed frontier trans? Thanks so much! Jonathan, Hawaii
greetings ✌️ I have a question and I would like someone with knowledge or the one in the video to answer me. about these motors exactly this ka24 all motor, how much is the maximum possible that could be obtained in hp from this motor? I will come back and repeat all motor thanks
What that bolt called, for your heater core? And do you know the Thread size. I wanna say that bolts size is a 5/8ths???? I've been looking for mines. Ever since I had movers lost most of my hardware. So now I'm buying the whole hardware for my block.
No issues so far, 250k+ miles on oem internals. I lost a noticeable amount of low-end power but it feels like it actually builds power all the way to redline now. Ymmv 🤘😉🤘
frayjc hey what’s up... nah you should not. They are meant to make the motor heat up faster. There are no sensors involved with the function of the flaps and the nearest sensor is actually before the throttle body so your ok.
Depending on the turbo and tune ~300Hp on stock guts (91 octane) and upwards of 400+ with a built motor (Pistons, head work, manifold, etc) on 91 with a mild tune.
my advice after using ka24de for 10 years change the oil and filter every 2k it is good engine but because the capacity of the oil 3.6 liter the oil well be porn fast you have 2 choices 1 change the oil and filter every 2k or big oil pan that takes 5 liter ka24des do not like 5k oil change or more I had 2 cars with that engine never porned any oil it sounds like new engine after 250k km and i use 10w40 castrol magnatec bast oil I found for all conditions
Why did my idle went crazy after I did the egr delete? No it sounds like if I was stepping on full throttle idk what’s going on, I did everything the right way and put everything back together the same way I took it out
Thomas Stuart ....If you are running a tune, especially if on the boost… You will see gains. If you are bone stock, you will see improvement if you at least have intake and exhaust and everything else is up to par.
It is very hard to see Gaines with small modifications on a natural aspirated engine. Everything else has to be running up to par to see the little gains you got. Overall you will still experience good throttle response and gas mileage.
Offbeatgarage did this thermostate blockoff plate as well and for him it worked only because he runs with no thermostat. On my road racing NA KA, I run a thermostat now but when i tried this, this thermostat block off plate cause me to overheat every single time during idle. I had to get a stock thermostat side plate to get the flow/heat the thermostat needs to open up. Check and understand the coolant diagram and flow direction from the FSM to make sure this works. Good luck to ya! NA KAs are awesome! th-cam.com/video/v0mjcGUvH4g/w-d-xo.html
thanks for the information. what upgrades do you think are worthwhile for a NA KA? I actually have a SR in my S13 now but just got a stock KA S14 too. I had an aluminum driveshaft in my S13 which I thought was worth it. Anything else you recommend?
Christian Meyer, depends what you want to do. My KA is very streetable thanks to Nistune- Dyno tune. Smooth idle and has a pretty good torque curve. 16whp and 170ftl bs. SR20 injectors, 2.5" catback, test pipe, dc headers, intake (not cold air), PDM cams (they went out of business), Brand new engine bay wiring harness from wiring specialists (this solved all my sensor issues, ground problems, etc. So worth it). Before tune 145whp. 140ftlbs. If you don't tune it (dyno tune if you can) you won't enjoy the KA as much. The car now sits at 2480lbs without me and 1/4 tank of gas, and with some 200 tread tires i hit 14.2 in the 1/4 mile. I will be going full race engine next...like this guy www.google.com/search?q=240sx+nasa+ttc&client=ms-android-verizon&tbm=isch&prmd=sniv&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjA0ZjSkaPZAhXFy1QKHTQBCXMQ_AUIESgD&biw=412&bih=718&dpr=3.5#imgrc=Oc2xD7SFKW4UKM: Here is his 240 history www.superstreetonline.com/features/modp-1201-1993-nissan-240sx/
If this motor has 2 thermostat then you’ll have to replace the second thermostat with a high flow one. The heads and the block operate at two different temps.
S14's did not, from my perspective it looks like youre running my setup. S13 with an s14 head. If you have an instagram lmk, i would love to follow a ka build
My instagram is _ChristianMeyer That engine is actually sold now but I just got another bone stock S14 that I plan on keeping the KA in and building. My S13 has a SR now.
Make a stencil and properly cut the plate for your secondary butterfly removal. Get a new o-ring. Bolt on your plate with the o-ring installed. Clean
Hole should’ve been tapped plugged with a short bolt... Easy.
I’m glad I am not the only one that thought of this.

no cust diff bolt pattern for trans and diff mounts, kits tho
How do you know what’s needed and what’s not ? I would have thought all the vaccum noises were needed
Very nice video! I got lucky with my KA, previous owner had already done all this. Doing a KA24DET build on my channel

Whats that part called at 5:20? I need one for my KA and i cant find it anywhere can someone help me please?
You cold have cut the end of the rod and used the thread and the head of the long rod to just close it off
Great video. You deserve more subs.
Anyone spy his hotwheel collection in the back tho 👍 legit vid tho bro!

Will doing this effect the engine in the long run or to dailying the car?
Brandon Garcia I daily mine like this no issues

All that removing might be a crazy question but do u get ant check engine light 💡

Just wondering what power potential with boost on these engines when built and what is limitations

stupid question but did i see a benchmade in ur pocket? nice
I’ve got a QR25 is under boost still has a 100mm stroke. I just don’t know if your engine has two thermostat or just one?
Why did my idle went crazy after I did the egr delete? No it sounds like if I was stepping on full throttle idk what’s going on, I did everything the right way and put everything back together the same way I took it out
Migue ...Are you running any tunes?
I read you have to block off the holes from the rod... did you do that also
MIG foo
Altima motor ?
Hey bro how big of a difference in performance and everyday driving.?

How stupid am i to ask about sealing the individual channels apart from each other where the rod was removed...
Just make your paths play the same size as a swirl valve mount JB Weld it and then screw it back in the same freaking holes
Instead of just j&b make hole in your plate and bolt it down
Do you know a good place to get a good deal on a supercharger for a KA24DE motor?.. I'd appreciate all the help have a great day
ابك هذي مكينت الدقسونه علامها زرقا
Damn....I shoulda bought stock in silicone before you built it.
Squid plate?
lol yes
An egr block off plate
Squid Game
Hey I think I have your motor now
Thread maker, use a bolt with thread lock ur good as golden
"im not gonna show you welding cause it can ruin the camera sensor," then proceeds to still film welding......
Threw a lot of aero bar in that weld, you could taste the bubbles.
