Kyle and Travis Wyman have prepared perhaps the first race prepped Vance & Hines Harley Davidson XR1200. The brothers had a first ride on the bike at the New Jersey Motorsports Park round of CCS racing in early May. This is their first impressions of the bike and the class that will debut this weekend at Road America.
Good plan, I picked up a Ducati 900ss (injection) last year and haven't looked back, amazing bike!
@supraking21,
This is a brand new series in the AMA just for XR1200's. All of the bikes in the class will be XR1200s and it is all supported by Vance & Hines.
Yes, I agree they wouldn't stand a chance against 600's! But this is actually a completely separate class. Our first race is this weekend at Road America. Root for #33!

yea Harley one thing I like about it is that I don't have to ride a foreign bike for fun. Hey this works and so does buell. see the new EBR.com 1190 rr it's is track only I think.
@Eric Shelton If you can actually push any of these bikes to their potential the. I guess the xr isn't for you but for a fun bike to bring to the twisties it deffinitly holds its own. I ride with my buddy who has a gsxr600 and I stick on him like glue. He only gets me on top end but I also plan on changing sprockets so I can hang to at least 140.
@snowscum Differant class. Unlimited twins. And if you wanted to ask why is there 125s on the grid. Run Unlimited Twins and Lightweight GP at the same time.
what kind of steering stabilizer os that on the right side of the bike ? i want one
Wouldn't the torque of this bike be a good advantage to the other Sport Bikes?
I would think so..XR1200 has 73.9 FT-Ibs of torque and the CBR 600 has 44.8 FT-Ibs of torque.
I didnt see any 600's passing the big harley........
WHY IN THE HELL DO PEOPLE PUT FREAKING MUSIC IN MOTORCYCLE VIDEOS ??? THE ENGINES SOUNDS ARE THE MUSIC THAT WE WANT TO HEAR !!!
@huntman125 Looks like 520lbs dry by the website.
I have a 2011 and it’s too heavy
Seems like they spend most of the time talking about how much this bike sucks
