The worse the world gets, the more politically charged we become, the more important this generation is. This was the best times in my life. We saw no color, no prejudice, no hate. We partied like the only people that existed were the ones there that night. Everyone had their "thing", but no one was ever judged. 8-12 hours (Not including after parties) of just good times. Really miss these days.

i miss those days... myself, jeffie aka obi wan, asian will, and mikey were every weekenders and nearly everydayers from 1995 to 1999. my favorite places was 18th and michigan, the laser tag place/arena, route 66, green velvets house for after hours, the funeral home for after hours on 163rd, and of course belmont rocks at the end of belmont at the lake... i have so many others i can vision but cant remember the names of the places... dj pyscho bitch at univ chigao campus every thursday, juice on every wednesdays at the house of blues, the expo center own in dalton, the numerous warehouses we broke into with a generator, 2 decks, 4 speakers, and 5 tanks of nos.... lol... not to toot my own horn but i was on the cover of midwest raver in 1997 and people nicknamed me rave scene cuz just below a pimp ass pic of me it said "rave scene" when referring to an article about the midwest scene but since it was basically over a picture of me when i had about $4,000 fanned out after a night of slanging glass at a party i was hence nicknamed rave scene. true story... anyone big time ravers during that time?

As a new age happy hardcore kid. We try our best to take everything the older group raved too and just add our own weird twist to it. This is surreal to me. And I can't wait to find raves that hold these vibes. As not many of them even throw them this large indoors anymore. It's always just a club

  • @elainew2230

It was such a treat to hear this music. This was before MP3s and digital sharing. It was hard to find this music to buy-- a handful of record stores in Chicago sold mix tapes. Maybe someone recorded a rave on DAT and you could get a copy.. maybe. You could buy individual tracks on vinyl, but the music was meant to be mixed. All this just made parties even more fun.

I started going to raves in 95 in Sydney Australia, different part of the world but the music and fashion was pretty much the same. The raves over here were divided between the more commercial ones, playing mostly happy hardcore and gabba and the unerground ones that played acid trance, electro and techno. House was mostly heard in clubs of which i was also going to. Fast forward 20 plus years, the underground raves evolved into Doofs which in Australian means a forest rave. Many of these doofs have become mainstream and feature mostly Psy Trance. Even though i am in my mid 40s, I am still going out to them when ever i can. Its been an interesting evolution but for me 95 to 97 were my favorite years !

This was the beginning of the end. Candy ravers, posers and lot's of O.D.'s on drugs. The good times were pre '93.
