I have been knitting socks for several years but never taat. I love the way the heels were turned and the picking up of the gusset was clearly explained. Well done😊
You were recommended to me by a girl in my knitting group as I am knitting my first pair of socks. What a brilliant way to knit socks together. Thank you for the tutorial, it is really comprehensive and easy to follow
I have watched video after video on this subject and I just can't get 'magic loop' knitting. loose stitches, inconsistent tension, tight on the cord and won't slide on the needle, yikes and that's without throwing 1x1 ribbing into the pattern (I hate ribbing). Makes me want to tear my hair out sometimes. So I just gave up, no-one could explain or at least in a way that my brain could understand and HUZZAH, I find you and I understand now. You go slow and explain exactly what you're doing and why you're doing it. This tutorial has given me hope that I may actually conquer TAAT socks. Thank you for taking the time to film and share your knowledge with us. I am very excited to begin AGAIN and feeling hopeful. THANK YOU Kristine!
I love working two socks at the same time. You seem to be struggling with the curly cable. When you get a chance try a ChaioGoo needle... they don't hold a curl ,like that.
Someone else has recommended Chiaogoo to me for that reason! Mine's an Addi and it does seem to hold it's curl - I gave it a soak part-way through the video and that helped :)
You may have given me the courage to finally try socks! Two at a time may work best for me. They’ve always seemed so intimidating. I’ve been knitting for over 50 years and love complicated patterns but socks...oh my!
I'm quite sure you've already made far more complicated projects than socks! Just take your time and remember to be nice to yourself as it's something new, and I'm sure you'll have a pair on your feet in no time :)
A very clear and well explained video. I haven't tried the magic loop yet, so I'm going to do this next. Of course now I've got to buy a 100cm circular and I think I'll buy the ChaioGoo one as recommended below!
Yes, you can knit TAAT socks on two needles, but you'd need to look that up as it's a different technique. I'm sure there will be something on TH-cam to help!
Hi. I need help. I first knit one at a time toe up GSR heel socks on one 9” circular. And then knit Two at a time toe up socks on one long circular using Magic Loop Now I’ve bought two sets of the same size tips (2.5) and two 14” cables so I can knit Two at a time; Toe up socks; using Judy’s Magic Cast On. But on Two Circulars. I found Magic Loop really annoying I can’t find a sock pattern or tutorial for that combination. I’ve been searching and searching but can’t seem to find anything exact. Can you direct me to a pattern with video tutorial (I’m a see-do learner)? Thank you 🙏
Hello! I'm sorry, I don't knit toe up socks so I can't help you out here. I would think that you could use any toe up pattern and the technique for two circulars and that would work - I've had a quick search and this video shows you the technique th-cam.com/video/NgV0VlU8Hgw/w-d-xo.html so that might be helpful. Good luck! 😀
@@WinwickMumsocks Thanks. I did watch that video, but it only made me feel more frustrated and confused because it didn’t start from the cast on and didn’t specifically address what I needed. I’m so happy to report that I did eventually work out myself how to cast on and knit two toe-up socks on two circulars. It took quite a few turns at starting over again until I worked out HOW TAAT Toe-Up goes on Two Circulars. I kept having to pull my knitting undone until I finally understood how two circulars are meant to be worked. Even video tutorials I’d watched - and I literally spent days watching EVERY sock knitting tutorial video that came up in my specific and even less exact searches - but none were explicit enough for me about the very important step of how two circulars are set up for toe up socks and how I was meant to work them. I had to work it out by trial and error to realise that I kept knitting myself ‘into a six’, and how not to do that. I’m well on my way now with my TAAT Toe-Up socks on TWO Circulars. Thanks for your kindness. Appreciated
At 19:50 a new ball of yarn is joined in but I'm not sure why - can someone explain please? I'm still quite new to knitting and this will be my first attempt at magic loop socks.
It's because I like the stripes to match on my socks so I cut the yarn to get the stripes to line up, you don't have to do that if you don't want to. I do mention that on the video, and also on the blog tutorial. If you're brand new to knitting socks, you might prefer to start with a single sock - have a look at the Sockalong tutorials at www.winwickmum.co.uk/p/sockalong.html
Hi Paul, I'm using West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply, but there's no reason why you can't use the tutorial for DK yarn. There's a DK pattern on my blog (www.winwickmum.co.uk/p/patterns-and-printables.html) that you can use so that the information will be the same as what I'm giving in the video - you'll just need to adjust the numbers when you come to them as DK yarn is thicker than 4ply. Hope that helps!

This is absolutely the best tutorial I’ve ever seen about two socks on magic loop. Thank you so so much! Life is much better now.
That's really kind of you to say, thank you! I'm so glad it has helped you! 😀 x
Finally, I understand the process. Very clearly demonstrated - thank you!

You are very welcome, I'm really glad it has helped and I hope you finally get both of your socks on your feet! 😀
A really helpful video- Thank you, no babbling for the sake of it 🙂
Thank you! 😀
Fabulous tutorial Christine, definitely going to knit a pair of socks on one circular needle. Thank you xx
Thank you! I hope it helps you! :)
Best TAAT tutorial I’ve watched 👏. But not for me, I’ll carry on doing one at a time, thank you Christine x
Thank you! And I'm with you there, I knit my socks one at a time too 😀 It's always good to know a new technique though! Xx

Wow. I must get started with sock knitting. Thank you for sharing.
I hope it helps you! 😀
Ooohhh, this video has come just at the right time for me to try it on the Christmas Robin pattern from WYS! 😊
Ooh yes, you absolutely could use it with that pattern - and it's so easy to match those Christmas Robin stripes too! :) x
i am tangled up in head just watching..but i will try circular someday after i finish all xmas socks
Sometimes you need to just try it out rather than watch so hopefully it will make sense when you cast on! Good luck with your Christmas socks!
you are a genius!
Thank you! 😀

I have just found your lovely channel. I enjoy it very much and have subscribed to it. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
I'm really glad you like it, thank you very much! x
CAN u knit socks TAAT on 2 16 inch needles,,,,,,,,,,,,and cast on 64 stitches for a cuff
Yes, you can knit TAAT socks on two needles, but you'd need to look that up as it's a different technique. I'm sure there will be something on TH-cam to help!
Thank you for showing TAAT. I’m wondering if I can do this with German Short Row heels? 😊
Yes, I don't see why not. You could certainly give it a go! 😀
Thank you 🙏🏻. A great tutorial. Very well explained.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! xx

I love your accent. what kind of british accent is it?
Thank you! 😀 I've got a Northern accent but I don't have a particular regional accent so it's quite hard to pin down to one area 😀
Hi what type of wool is this I’m going to use double knit
Hi Paul, I'm using West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply, but there's no reason why you can't use the tutorial for DK yarn. No, sorry, I write cuff down patterns but you might find something if you search on Ravelry.
