TheMirdoc, you can definitely visit, but as far as living there it depends if you are able to get a work/residence permit. But it's best to get in touch with the local Eritrean Embassy and they will surely give more information. Eritrea is indeed very beautiful and particularly the peaceful people and beautiful scenery.

Besides, he clearly stated his grandfather has always been living in Eritrea. So if you seen him as a child in 1995, then you probably seen him visiting his grandfather.

Considering what the Portuguese French dutch Belgium England did during colonialism did to the Africans the raping and pillaging of the continent...if one was gonna be colonized the Italians seemed they coexisted with the Eritreans with no issues...Mussolini segregated the country of Italy as far as chasing away millions of southern Italians to the Americas and he segregated Asmara....I remember my grandfather telling me that the Eritreans were treated as equal as any Italian and both groups prospered

yeah Italians were light weight and they seemed to respect Eritreans and how they conducted their country ; there really wasn't anything for Italians to do governing wise, eritrea already had their own government set up- definitely glad they were the ones there over the Western Europeans

I met him Inda aiba summer of 2008. it was great night , we had drinks and fun, i called him before i left Asmara he told me he is Sembel hospital, he involved car accident, in Gezabanda which killed his best friend. very nice guy , remember telling me Ajoka somali....

I think you are forgetting this is a candid camera episode (hence the annoying laughter throughout the segment). The Italian guy didn't know it was a candid camera episode till the very end. Actually, the proper term for him is Italian-Eritrean, since he's officially an Eritrean citizen and speaks one of Eritrea's nine languages better than most.

CHEERS TO THE ITALIAN SPEAKING TIGRIGNA.
BTW: The English lived in India for more than 300 years but none of them learned Indian languages.
Instead, they thought the Indians how to speak their language, English.
Therefore, NOT all the people who MOVE TO NEW PLACES GET LEARN & FLAWLESSLY SPEAK THE LANGUAGE of the places they moved in 10 YEARS.
Therefore, you got to give the man a credit for learn local languages on his own initiative, in less than 300yrs, as the English in India.
