    The shopping cart represents the cage from perception. That’s why he sits in it a lot. The balloons are his burdens he carrys with him everywhere he goes. The end is the idea of trying to let go of some of his burdens but it’s scary to let go of the only thing you’ve ever really known

    • @bellesvideos9578
      @bellesvideos9578 2 ปีที่แล้ว +70

      yes exactly. the whole abandoned amusement park is filled with people who are letting go of a piece of their burdens. you see some people wiping off the smiles. people who threw off the black clothes, people lined up to let go of their burdens, people who have successfully gotten rid of all and people who are still weighed down by it. it was such incredible symbolism

    “NF will change your life.” The most brutally honest thing ever said. NF is an artist that comes into your life when you need him and he takes you through the journey of life showing you the way to be more than your mental health. True hero.

    Reading comments on "Leave Me Alone" reactions opens up a lot of various concepts on what everything in the video means. The video is so well done that everything is open to interpretation as ART is meant to be. Nate is truly an artist. To me, the idea of Society being a Theme Park rings home. Nothing makes sense and everyone is crazy. The attractions are the things you do to help normalize yourself and make you a part of society. So one will help wipe off your fake smile, the other will help you drop your "black clothing depression" into "white clothing conformity." The people crowd to those who are different than them and try to push them into the direction to make them the same. This really rings home in the "hate to be different, but hate to be normal." He's constantly looking around confused about why he is so different than everyone else, but he doesn't want to take part in the things that would make him the same. Thus he becomes outcast.

    • @nivrag00
      @nivrag00 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yo this is an amazing view on the video. Literally took my thoughts and put them into coherent words that I couldn't think of. I became aware of NF right after the hype of Perception died down, around the times of the 'Gods Plan' hype, so I was heavily ridiculed for my newfound love of NF music. But we NF fans don't give a fuck do we?
      Hell nah. We don't.
      I would like to add onto this interpretation with my own thoughts on the world NF has created, and more specifically what this song adds to it. I felt as though in the Search, we see what NF perceives the world to be. And more specifically his worldview inside of his head. Like you said, the people in white clothes are those who conform to the everyday life styles and morals of modern society, and the black clothes people are those who do not, whether it be by being mentally ill and seeing life differently or just not believing in the social norms of the 21st century. In Leave Me Alone, we see a sort of conversion camp, where the white clothed people are finishing their acceptance into the masses and the black clothed people who want to conform are trying to change. But obviously we have Nate who is different. He isn't in line with everyone else, he is the outlier, or as we know him, the Outcast. I'm not sure what his cart represents, where it's his body and the balloons are the burdens in which he drags along, or it's the cage he feels he is stuck in, but it is pretty well known that his balloons indicate his burdens. I believe at the end he is going through some inner conflict about letting those two 'burdens' go. We don't see whether he actually hands them away, but I'd like to believe that maybe Nate came to terms with some stuff in his duration at the hospital and those are the metaphorical burdens he was able to let go or move past them. {Side note: if you are mentally ill i.e. depressed, anxious, etc. I know being in a mental hospital or a hospital in general may seem scary, but most of the time the people are trying to help. I've been charged with a 5150 before (a mandatory 72 hour hold so they can determine whether you are mentally safe enough to be in the general public and not a danger to other members of society) and was in a mental facility for about 4 days. It was scary and with all those built up emotions from my actions that led to it, but in the end, speaking with the other patients and finding the right meds I needed to help me get back on track saved my life. I hope you take this into consideration if you are having a rough time, that there are people out there who love and care. I know it hurts, you are scared, or feel like a burden. I won't lie, it usually doesn't go away, but you do learn to manage it. There will be bad days, but it is okay to have bad days, as long as you don't allow those days to hinder your progress. If you really want to do something about it that, in all honesty, most likely won't work, think about your loved ones first. Just do it, think how they will feel. I know everyone says that, but take it from me, the looks on their faces when they find you, it's worse than anything you feel. Just think and say something. It will get better. Sorry for the rant.}

    I love this music video so much. Just to start, all the extra people are not actors. He posted on social media asking for fans to “apply” and then his team did like a raffle thingy for it. So all the people in this video other than Nathan are fans 🥰 I’ve heard so many cool stories about the whole experience. The video was also shot in an abandoned amusement park. This song is one of my favorite NF songs and I’m so happy to see you guys love it as much as I do. I can’t wait for you guys to get to Trust feat Tech 9

    You can see the difference between perception and the search how much better he got. Also fun fact all these people in the music video are his fans. Also, no name refers to fame calling and he hung up and called him back with the title song leave me alone, which is why fame said it sucked

    Yes, whenever a phone rings, it is Fame, aka Satan. Satan = temptation. Ref: Intro II “….Satan keeps calling, he’s trying to flirt. I hang up the phone, these are more than just words.” This specific storyline plays out further on the Clouds Mixtape, with the song Trust. NF shares how he keeps Satan at bay, by starving his own ego. 😉

    @hellraiser7118 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    My opinon: the shopping cart is representing the cage and his mind, balloons are all of his burdens, in this album he is learning to step outside of the cage ( open the door) and he is on a journey to try and find himself and during the journey get rid of all his burdens, which turns out to be alot hard task, and he drags around the cage and keeps it close to him so when he starts feeling anxious, scared , or fear takes over, he can climb back into it , his safe space

  • @LadyMystie
    @LadyMystie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    We consider Why, The Search and Leave Me Alone as "the trilogy".
    The cage was in the background of The Search, so the shopping cart is his mind again...more portable as he is out looking for answers. That's just my opinion. The whole song is him telling his doubts/burdens to leave him alone. Plus he's explaining the OCD diagnosis to fans.
    So much in this song! #NF 😎

    K done! I KNEW YOU GUYS WOULD LOSE IT OVER THIS! I still get chills multiple times watching and listening to this!
    A major note behind this album is that previous to releasing this, Nate had been in a mental hospital and had battled with suicidal thoughts very heavily. The entire album is sort of his dark and deep journey through all of that. Some were even written in the hospital (The song Nate being one of them).
    I feel like this video was sort of his take on his journey in the hospital and how they were telling him to let go of burdens and all the therapy. I think at the end that might be his therapist possibly, and he was letting two go through the therapy but ultimately he still has so many.

    • @malochy2473
      @malochy2473 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I hadn’t thought of it this way before and I love this perspective. As well, I didn’t know he went to a mental hospital, good for him. One thing I noticed as I was listening to his music, been listening since the first EP, his music forced me to look inside myself and confront all the trauma I had as a child. It was a rough journey, the more I listened to him the worse my mental health became because it forced me to confront everything. I didn’t handle any of it in a healthy way for years, just shoved it down deeper and became suicidal because of it. I finally went to therapy back in 2020. Now when I listen to NF I feel empowered by the struggle I overcame when confronting my past. Best decision I ever made.

    Friday made, awesome reaction 😃😁👌🏾. On The Search album he's searching for freedom and that's symbolized by him leaving his cage, the other people changing clothes from black to white, having their fake smiles wiped off, and being in a queue to hand away their burdens. He does hand over two balloons but remains with a bunch other. The hand must be God in my opinion. And yes that phone is Fame still ringing 📞

    Yesssss!!! Love this song!! The meaning of the video is often debated, some people believe the people in white are getting over their " burdens" and it's a good thing and want NF to out on the white clothes while others believe the people in white are just masking their burdens to fit in with society and NF sticks out like a sore thumb because he doesn't not mask anything no matter how unpopular that can make him.
    You decide what you see depicted in NF's art.
    Now please keep in mind while you check out the rest of this album that NF had the idea to bring someone inspirational and positive in this album, but he was going to one of his worst cases of depression while writing and doing this album. But keep in mind " Clouds the mixtape is a polar opposite.
    Don't worry not giving anything away

  • @carszie

    Hey guys! another good reaction! i do feel a little disappointed that you didn't go into the symbolism more- but then I have been thinking about this video for years.... you just saw it for the first time lol.... so i'll share my thoughts! Side note- "NF will change your life" is the realest thing you have ever said!
    Ok, the best thing about NF is that he is personally specific, but broad with it relating to everyone in some way. So I see the cart as his mobile cage, aka a safe space that he can climb in (at the end of the search). The balloons are burdens and smile is the fake smile which you guys know. I see the people in white as with God. Some still have burdens, some have fake smiles too. The people in black are not happy and have not given over to God yet. So the 3rd verse in the dark room with the people that never "changed".... and then at then end, it is Nate trying to give a couple burdens over to God.... but does he????
    And the "leave me alone" chorus I take it as him yelling at his doubts and burdens in his head- because he is on his "search" for himself.......
    Big fan of you guys experiencing this =)

    I take it as him giving up his burdens giving up some of his troubles to “God” in the search says leaving my burdens well I brought a few with me I’m not perfect. As the album goes on he’s working on changing.. He’s giving up some burdens. And the people I’m the back are waiting in lines to give some of their burdens and change outfits from mental institute to be more grounded in themselves cause thats what he does to fans in real life. DONT BE SKIPPING NO SONGS ON THIS ALBUM😂😂 dope reaction🔥

    Nate said in Mansion's room of regrets upstairs (black balloons)..
    'one of the first things I wrote was I wish I'ld have called..' then in
    How Could You Leave Us he says.. 'I wish I would have just picked
    up the phone..' then in the Search... he is in his upper room of regrets
    visually... as his passed away Mom is on the swing NF also appears
    on at the end of WHY to start his journey with cart and baloons... and
    Nate's Mom has 2 balloons attached to her on that swing in The Search...
    perhaps those added burdens Nate had to carry of his two sisters whom
    I believe are the two girls he taps on as they are sleeping where FAME called...
    Interesting how this video starts and ends with the sound of a phone ringing...
    as Nate takes only 2 balloons to hand back to God to finally take those burdens
    off of his shoulders.... or maybe not? ;)

    Nate is still Searching, pushing his mental shopping cart prison around with his burdens attached, closely dragging behind. The people in white likely represent his fans in various stages of mental health themselves. Some still hide behind their fake "Joker" smiles, pretending their lives are fine with the appearances they present to the world and social media. Others, have been inspired by Nate, and are going to get professional help and are beginning to come to terms with their own flaws and burdens (wiping off their smiles in line). Some have let go of most of their burdens, and some fans still carry around a few burdens, but not as much as Nate; which is his "Perception."
    Furthermore, Nate references that "he'll drop a song out of nowhere and all the fans embrace it" (as all the seated fans are eagerly listening, waiting for new music and point, in unison, at his burdens). The following scene shows the symbiosis of Nate's fans helping him by literally being behind him and helping him into mental recovery (pushing him in his shopping cart) while simultaneously following him and being inspired to get help themselves. I think the tent with black clothes being exchanged for white represents people discovering NF and that they aren't alone. They don't have to wear black and be plagued by their burdens forever. Being a part of this community of NF fans that are real and raw is helping them and inspiring them to come into the light (white clothes symbolizing purity). They come out with no fake smiles, but don't necessarily smile for real still, because they are no longer faking that everything is ok. They have become "Real", embracing "Real Music" and "Real life" on the road to healing.
    The older man sitting in the cart, is old NF that we have seen in a few other videos, assuming he never lets go of all his burdens and grows old with them. Fame is again, referenced. The phone rings at the beginning (Fame is calling) and it ends with the phone still ringing; fame calling again. TBD on if Nate gives away a few of his burdens to the man behind the veil wearing white. I take that as GOD.

    Hey fellas! Great reaction again. Y'all don't miss. So, they were wiping off the fake smiles in the tent. Not drawing them on. My guess as to the changing from dark clothes to white is going from darkness to purity. Or perhaps getting the mental help they need. Love from Cali.

    Great question!! The phone rings a second time….I think that’s God. He clearly rejects Fame. Hand at the end is God. Listen to the next song Changes and he gives the answer. Love y’all!!

    As a Christian, the bible speaks of giving your burdens over to God. I believe as a NF is a Christian, that is what he was referring to. But as humans we are stubborn, thinking we know better and struggle with relinquishing control, even of our burdens. This is why he only handed over a couple, and even then you could tell he was struggling with that…

    Have been waiting so long for you guy's to finally get to this song!!! I'm so happy you went through the journey, so many other reaction channels will have this song and video as like thier second or third NF song ever and they get so lost. So I'm very happy you guy's started at the begin and worked your way up. Really hope you guy's don't skip Returns, it's alot like Real but 3 times better (in my opinion) as other people have said this whole album is so SO GOOD!!

    I know I’m late but I would recommend going and watching The Third Ernest’s reaction to Leave Me Alone. It helped me understand a lot of the symbolism happening in the video. I would think that the band reaching out at the end is God while all the other people in the amusement park are people in different stages of this restoration while the people in all black (when he was talking abt fame) are those who decided to keep their burdens and not hand them over to God. NF visits them but decides not to stay there too long

    Fairly new to your channel. Love the reactions! Huge NF fan here. You guys are really entertaining and in your reactions and I appreciate. Back when he did the song No Name, he said that a fan called and he wasn't ready for the fame and attention at the time. As you mentioned in other videos he really loves his fans, but he is sort of a loner and doesn't like all the limelight. He said he will get back to it by album four in the song No Name. This is what he considers album four and this is the song. All the connections that he makes it in his songs with past songs is really incredible. He's truly a lyrical genius! Keep up the great work, very entertaining. As for now, I have some videos to catch up on... 😉

    Something else that I've noticed from this video is the color of his shirt. All the other black shirts look newer. His is a dull black, which I think was done to show that he has had these problems longer than other people. Just a small detail that I thought was cool

    This! This right here! You guys are why we love the NF Journey! You caught that NF called Fame back which, by the way he promised he would do in the song, No Name, "Fame called me, I'm like, "How you doin'?"
    Hung up on him, I ain't ready for it
    I'll get back to that when I make album four" And the significance of NF sending Fame a song called Leave Me Alone. It is also funny, how this made up person Fame doesn't get back to NF for a few days. He says he texted Fame when he didn't hear from him. I just find that funny. The Search is a masterpiece as a single collection. Every song adds to the incredible theme of the album which takes on more weight, fire, and many powerful moments. Please listen to the rest of the songs in order. Every song is great.
    A theory: Why people in white in #leavemealone As NF goes through life he pulls in all of us kind of damaged individuals.
    We are dressed in black and many have fake smiles. As we listen to NF we grow and he helps us work out our demons, thus we get white clothes.
    Aren't we all in different stages of recovery in this thing called life? Still NF wears black in #leavemealone showing he is still working it out. He is healing others in the process. #NFrealmusic
