    I think the thing about being offended - at least at the political level where it's group-related offense and not personal offense - is that it's largely used as a shorthand for "This behavior is emblematic of or reinforces systemic inequalities in society". The reason it's more prevalent on the left wing is of course that large scale systemic influences on life are much more important to people on the left.

      I almost agree with that. It doesn’t reinforce systemic inequalities - but it’s associated or it reminds us of systemic inequalities. The longer video addresses that - So does Olisunvias video. Some things are offensive because they are associated with the right wing. But there’s a difference between that and actually working towards inequality.
      To use that example again: If you say the N-word by yourself where nobody can hear you, then how can influence society? But that behavior is associated with people who are against equality and that makes it offensive.
