First time I heard this , I felt such a deep sadness in my heart and kept my eyes closed the whole time... There's something about this song that words can't explain , you just have to feel it.
The anchor the lyrics give to that timeless sadness is so poignant; It's describing the endlessly amnesiac cycles of the collective human experience. Building knowledge over centuries only to have it lost to time and circumstance is deeply sad, and horrifying still in that later civilisations misinterpret the original meaning and base their ideology on such a mistake; millions living out their lives on the bones of an animal that never was.

Amazing how a short tune put to a low res pencil style animation can pack so much power and emotion. This is probably one of the most captivating and emotionally engaging intros to a television show I've ever experienced. Kudos to the team that put this together.
I started crying during that scene and can't quite say why. Maybe it's because humanity made some silly religious war that polluted Earth so much you can't breath there and killed most of the Animals, and with that people need to leave it or die with everything
This intro is mind blowing and soul moving. Its not just the song... the images on the screen with the song and those rocket explosion noises its just all so sublime. The only intro i have ever not skipped.
I honestly can't place the reason why, but it also makes me cry. I think the song combined with the art of the intro fully capture the mood and feel of this show, somehow on a deep emotional level. So far I am absolutely loving this show, art, and song.
I have watched series for a long time, I think this is visually the best intro to a series and the best soundtrack. It is hypnotically good and it changes a bit over time. It is juts hauntingly beautiful to me, and the lyrics connect with so many aspects of the series. Perfection.
When I first heard and saw the intro....My heart melted. The song speaks of the premise of the show itself. Love connects us all across every step every best and every breathe is looooooong.
I sobbed like a hurt baby when I first saw the full intro sequence with this playing, because it was a culmination of fears from generations: Humans had finally pulled the trigger. And then I deep-dived into the show, and my history teacher brain with it's love of alternate-history fiction started to pick up and assemble the clues: this is a what-if on a lofty scale, based on the "best-case" Roman Imperial scenario, where Christianity never took off, and instead the cults of Sol Invictus and of Mithras fused into the Imperial Cultus of Sol Mithras, which then dominated the earth far into (what would have been) our future. And yet! it is based further on a cyclical concept of human time, where we appear to be doomed to switch back-and-forth between two planets as we kill each, over and over, for millions of years. Bleak but beautiful.
I have watched the series, did like it but never noticed this intro. Then, years later, I was listening to one of the classical music radio stations in my hometown, in Budapest, in the evening, doing house chores, and heard this song. Shazamed it, and here I am. For me, this song is something that tells life. From the beginning to the end, with all happiness and sorrow. Kid you not, I want this song to be played at my funeral. One of my top 10 songs, ever.
My friend played Campion Sturges in this show. He is now playing Blackthorne in Shōgun and I couldn’t be more proud of how far this actor/writer/director/musician has come.
That's...really a perfect way to describe this song. I knew that's what I was feeling but I couldn't put it into words. It makes you feel very raw and...dare I say...human
Raised by Wolves = An overview World War III The conflict between the non-believers and the belivers, the Religious War... devastated Earth and brought the human race to the edge of extinction. Alright, now, listen carefully. A malfunctioning android, a Cleric, and a cat walk into a brothel. The malfunctioning android requests an android whore with mechanical skills. The Cleric requests a virgin with the knowledge of the Mithraic mysteries. But the cat... the cat can't decide what to ask for, so he turns to the malfunctioning android and the Cleric and asks for suggestions. The Cleric turns to the malfunctioning android and says, "How is it a cat can speak?" To which the malfunctioning android turns and says, "I am malfunctioning. None of this is actually happening. The cat doesn't exist, and neither do you." To which the Cleric then says, "Thank goodness. For a minute there, I thought I was losing my mind." You see, it's a paradox. I have many jokes tailored for geniuses like yourself.
I find the costume design questionable since their resemble those of old 1970's and 80's scifi B movies but you can easily look past them once you appreciate the good acting of the main characters. Especially Mother and Father
When you listen to a song and it gives you chills you know it is something special Very beautiful and I can't get enough Knowing that this is the soundtrack of earth's demise makes it eiree and haunting

Me: * Turns golden while floating into the air in a T-pose. *
Me: *Puts in my Necromancer eyes*
😂
Yeah have to say its one of the only shows I actually looked forward to hearing the intro each episode!
Lol STOP IT ( with milk spilling out your mouth ) 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
If only this was on Spotify...
could be nice
@@li-orginnerup2067 it is on spotify
@@0ut1and3r wait what. I could not find this song
@@0ut1and3r oh thanks i found it
how powerful was mothers story in episode 5, that felt like some TV magic right there. This soundtrack is epic.
Fantastic
I started crying during that scene and can't quite say why. Maybe it's because humanity made some silly religious war that polluted Earth so much you can't breath there and killed most of the Animals, and with that people need to leave it or die with everything
I felt their love! Interesting to see the creation and creator relationship
@@naturazpolski9213 I was the same ha.
This show deserves so many Emmy nominations
I'm so gonna miss this intro
I can’t get this out of my head… truly amazing. One of the best intros of all time PERIOD. It gives me chills every single time.
Right I can’t get it out of my head it just captivated me and now I don’t want to let it go
This intro is mind blowing and soul moving. Its not just the song... the images on the screen with the song and those rocket explosion noises its just all so sublime. The only intro i have ever not skipped.
They're nuclear explosions
Very powerful song. Makes me feel weird - left with unfinished answers. Like something is missing. Also at the same time, it is very extraordinary
Verdade, VC parece uma atriz
Man… This was almost prophetic.
Something is missing. A last season.
Enchanting tune. I can't help but visualise Mother anytime I hear it.
When I hear this song It always gives me Goosebumps ....
Damn, this song makes me cry
I honestly can't place the reason why, but it also makes me cry. I think the song combined with the art of the intro fully capture the mood and feel of this show, somehow on a deep emotional level. So far I am absolutely loving this show, art, and song.
Not sure about it, but i think its the feeling of not wanting to leave the land that gave us life due to the consequences of our own actions.
me too!
I'm with you, though I don't know why. It speaks to something so deep inside. A lament that humanity hasn't figured how to release just yet.
This is absolutely beautifull
I have watched series for a long time, I think this is visually the best intro to a series and the best soundtrack. It is hypnotically good and it changes a bit over time. It is juts hauntingly beautiful to me, and the lyrics connect with so many aspects of the series. Perfection.
When I first heard and saw the intro....My heart melted. The song speaks of the premise of the show itself. Love connects us all across every step every best and every breathe is looooooong.
I miss this show
Best protagonist in years ❤️✊🏻 Go, Mother
This song describes life and all its emotions. Absolutely love it
I need more music like this. The feelings that come with this are immaculate
I can't help myself rewinding the song to the beginning a number of times before watching an episode. Such an understated but truly powerful theme.
Literally do this every time
I sobbed like a hurt baby when I first saw the full intro sequence with this playing, because it was a culmination of fears from generations: Humans had finally pulled the trigger.
Wish I lived in a place where songs like this played on radio
Bring it back, BRING IT BAAAACK.
My friend played Campion Sturges in this show. He is now playing Blackthorne in Shōgun and I couldn’t be more proud of how far this actor/writer/director/musician has come.
The people who are here...get it! #beautifulmusic
This song makes everything feel bigger than just you, as all beautiful songs do.
thats why we all cry on them..
Yes.
Lol👺👺
That's...really a perfect way to describe this song. I knew that's what I was feeling but I couldn't put it into words. It makes you feel very raw and...dare I say...human
This song is so deep , sweet and sad at the same time !
I loved this serie. Such Imagination !
It's such a hauntingly beautiful song. I love the singer's voice.
I find myself listening to the intro each episode.
Not sure how many videos I've commented on but this song, the context, the lyrics, the images it evokes just slams me to the ground.
Raised by Wolves = An overview World War III
The conflict between the non-believers and the belivers, the Religious War... devastated Earth and brought the human race to the edge of extinction.
Raised by Wolves is one of the best sci-fi series.
Yes, it's a real shame to lose a series so beautiful and interesting, full of mysteries and secrets that are yet to be discovered.
Had this in my list on HBO Max for forever, binged watch the 2 seasons in 2-3 days…extremely different, extremely so good..cant wait for season 3
It’s been cancelled I’m afraid no season 3 :(
i dont think about this show that often, but i think about this theme all the time
Shame
best intro song to a series ever, one of the few I don't skip. Just really fits the series too
I feel the universe in this song
This has elements of Little Dragon, Yoko Kanno and her rich alto voice is like a young Dionne Warwick. Beautiful!
Wow great call on Dionne Warwick... I totally hear that now.
Who sings this?
@@MegaChamelia a Swedish artist named Mariam Wallentin.
Well my friend, thanks to Raised by wolves and finding your comment i just discovered music i never heard of. What a music ! Thank you so much ! Really !! If you have more music like that write me please. I just discovered a a hole new world !! Thanks to you.
@@michaltesnar5123 😊 You're welcome. My brother got me hooked on Little Dragon a few years ago. Have you heard of Hiatus Kaiyote? They're another great band.
We need this kind of music and soundtrack that bring us to this magical world ... we feeling all ... the sadness and happines in the same time ... like we reach the meaning and the real purpose of humanity and life ... this serie need more fans than now ... 🔥💜
The music is every bit as beautiful, sad, desperate-yet-hopeful as it should be. Very well chosen.
Chills. Every time.

Knock knock...
He needs an Emmy for his performance
@@NoLoveLostRecords ❤️❤️❤️
Hands down my favorite character.
this is one of the best series ever created by far! Coming from a massive nerd of the late 80s/early 90s. So happy to be able to be present. love it!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can picture Moya rolling languidly through space to this theme
This and the mandalorian
I find the costume design questionable since their resemble those of old 1970's and 80's scifi B movies but you can easily look past them once you appreciate the good acting of the main characters. Especially Mother and Father
Which other series would you recommend?
Those who want next season.
Can meditate so easily to this.
I miss this show so much man😢
When you listen to a song and it gives you chills you know it is something special
Very beautiful and I can't get enough
Knowing that this is the soundtrack of earth's demise makes it eiree and haunting
Close your eyes and thinks of all of our current issues it grabs you on an emotional level
Lol our current issues are just overpopulation and idiocy. This song grabs at an emotional level, but not for these petty problems of today. Humanity hasn't even begin to truly suffer yet as of late, but true suffering will come. Give it time. When our very existence is threatened.
@@picklewart5382 Ben Frost is a god. he can create such an amazing vibe of pure melancholy and beauty with his music

Can't believe they canceled it. It was #1 for a bit there
Not an opinion. straight up facts mate. If they followed through on what they were setting up. I'd give my left leg to have this work of art back.
only learned of this series' existance recently and I am already hooked
“The door that finally opens
With light flooding in
Spilling out on the floor
The core that never was
Now it will be
The bones of what was there before
Every step, every beat
Every thought, every breath,
Everything is longing
Every wind, every wave,
Every sky, every cloud
Every grave is longing
Pulling you from the sky
Just like love will do.”

I can’t believe they canceled this show. It was an AMAZING storyline, great themes, characters, actors and actresses, beautiful aesthetic. I mean…just wonderful. I’ll forever love this song even if they canceled the show!
This son is something soo rare, beautiful, sad and reach at the same time. Can't hold tears. Sadly perfect for apocalypse
Miriam Wallentin, what a voice, Ben Frost, what a track, production and composition of this whole show, wow! I am now a huge fan.
Such a great show.
This series was so damn good. True sci-fi is too weird for the mainstream, then the Warner/Discovery merge killed it :(
To bad I can’t find it on Spotify would of been a great add

This series is a work of art. It belongs in a museum.
i searched the theme song cause i wanted to know if is it only me who when hearing it feels like im actually watching the end of the world . beautiful and terrifying at the same time. i feel like this is part of a dream im having, watching from far how its all ends. like somethings big just ended and hoping that i will get to experience it again.
nice to know from the comments im not alone .
Me too bro, it feels weird and gratefully too ... I don't know, but is a really good one
We have to have open minds. First of all this is science fiction. A story of someone’s imagination. We all have questions about why we are and where we are headed. Our spirit hopefully is guiding us to make the right decisions. It’s an interesting perspective.
Hearing this before the first episode you watch perfectly wipes your expectations for a sci-fi tv series, as well it should.
I love how this song plays while we watch Beautiful destruction play out on screen 😍 it’s so dark and gives me chills ...I can imagine this song playing while I look out into the ruins of destruction
this song and the intro leaves me feeling overwhelmed! its crazy. no intro has had this effect on me before
This song makes me just cry ,remember all of my past and see how far I’ve come
Just started watching this show, I sat through the into by accident since I usually skip show intros. Gave me chills, and deep meaning vibes. So I instantly came here to find it. Glad to see countless others feel the same way about such a beautiful track.
This is so far the most beautiful TV show intro I've ever heard.
