I like this guys playing, very aggressive .. attacks it with confidence and feel .. great riffs. Love it. That was some magic playing between Lemmo & Thomas there.
Been playing everything from Blues to Flamenco, I can tell he's a LIVE guitar PLAYER, He plays with way more power and gravity than a Basement Shredder who only plays with himself.
Thomas is a better musician than it seems, it’s the soul of the maneskin concerts, he takes out really interesting sounds from his guitar and jams along in many songs. He’s awesome
I respect that this guy is just a normal player for the most part. Songwriting is key, and Maneskin has good songs. Don't need guitar-god solos if you have a catchy tune.
One of the things I like is that he uses his guitar to enhance the song. Meaning if they add a guitar solo it's not there to show off, but because it serves the song as a whole.
If you go in a shop and play a guitar with thick 0.10 strings and a rubbish amp with no overdrive, all you can do is a few simple pentatonic licks, and sweat like a pig. Nobody is a virtuoso without his own guitar and amp. If I don't play 0.9 strings and a cranked plexi I am like a fish out of water.
Lmao gimme a break bro... First off, .010s aren't thick, they are standard. 0.09's are light. Second, a truly great player can play great on anything. I'm giving this guy a compliment and you're like weirdly defending him? But since you said it, there's many, MANY players that go into any random Guitarcenter and sound better than this dude on any old guitar and amp. Ask them to write a song though, and they struggle. That's this guy's strength. But he's not a great guitarist. Don't justify his mediocre playing with his gear. If he was a great guitarist, his playing would simply be great.
