- HEY everyone - I've been getting a lot of requests to post this video - and here it is! So go ahead.......... laugh your asses off LoL - this is the director's cut that MTV sent me on a VHS back in 2003, so the quality is kinda shit but at least you can still see it and there are two deleted scenes during the credits that they never aired. So, be grateful! I think I was like 19 at the time btw. So much fun! I wish I had all the footage because there was SO much that they left out to make it fit into a 30 min slot with commercials.

@naranja6769 Exactly, as of now all I see is Teen Mom 2 OG or some episode of Ridiculousness which does'int fully makes sense as it's about viral videos from online, yet the main demographic would have gone to TH-cam to see those kinds of videos long before even thinking of going to cable TV to see that kind of videos. They never seem to air anything else, like expected for current MTV. I wish there was another classic MTV that was like it was in the mid to late 90s, instead of the current classic MTV which just airs music videos, which is classic, but the one I remember was the one that used to air Beavis & Butt-head and Daria. I was born in 2001, and it used to be on all the time in my house from what I barely remember from when I was like 3.

I always wondered whether if the part where you guys are in the van watching your room getting raided was a studio set or not because there wasn't a way to stream footage live back then like they do now in a moving van lol

Brings back memories. Unfortunately back then, anything was recorded on VCR tapes. DVDs were there but rare. As soon as flat panel TVs were already popular and until a few years ago they only had inputs and no outputs. I found recording via USB sticks more difficult than with old VCRs. New apps are often slow and for VCRs`'s you just select the channel and you press the record button with almost no delay. So easy back then...
@@efertheredfish2 LoL MTV sent me a VHS tape in the mail of the episode and this is exactly what you see. My friend burned it onto a DVD for me back in the day.
@@stevesequeira That's great. At 9:10 that Marantz receiver and that Sumo power amp is very rare nowadays. Back then anything could be fixed or fixed partially, but this is an unexpected bonus. By the way I bought the GTI some months ago. The best car I have ever had.

I did have an exhaust - it was a Neuspeed 2.5” catback which sounded beautiful but the editors apparently decided that the beautiful VR6 exhaust tone shouldn’t have been at full volume in that clip, sadly. I agree with you.

- How were you chosen? Did a friend nominate you and you just get chosen?
- What is your overrall reaction to the entire idea of 'raiding rooms'? When i was much younger, me and my friends would do 'roomraiders' on one another cause the concept was pretty fun.
- At the end did you get to keep the goods?
I applied at the mall nearby and yet picked me. It's just a fun show idea and I enjoyed all of it.

@@dubbie17 No script at all and yes complete surprise because they told me it was a "new" reality dating show... which they weren't lying because we filmed while season 1 was airing LoL. Slick!!
@@dubbie17 We scheduled the shooting days a few weeks in advance and I cleaned my room as I normally do but I had no idea it was being raided by someone in the show!

Jake77 Yea it was a great car until I tried modifying it and things started breaking - damn VWs suck! I had like 3 more after that with much higher power/turbo/supercharger etc but now they’re for sale cuz I went electric! Been a while since this episode aired and if I could have that car back in that condition today, I would do it in a heartbeat!

What's the deal with the weather? It's snowing when the guys are pulled from their homes, but not when she goes to them. Makes me assume it was filmed on different days and stuff is staged.
Every episode is shot over 2 days or so. First day is for the raider to raid the contestants' rooms, second day is for the contestants to react to the footage and raid the raider's room. There are some random Reddit AMAs that detail the filming experience.
It actually started snowing right after they were at my house and went to the next one LoL
