Thank you so much for watching! Let's discuss: 1. Which book would you (should I) read first? Why?/Why not? 2. Do you like this video format (rather than a traditional book haul)? 3. What are you reading right now, and how is it going?
1. Dazzling first because I love the cover 2. Whatever format works best for you. 3. The Great Dune Trilogy by Frank Herbert I am nearly finished woooooo!
i think if youre struggling with a reading slump / coming out of one then i think maybe dazzling would be a better book to read first? but i havent read either of these, but they sound so good !! also im at one of the universities that chịkọdịlị emelụmadụ went to haha !!
🖤❤️💛🩶🤎 Njeri, I miss your videos. Sometimes I will try to read outside of my comfort zone but what helps me in doing that is when my favorite genre is involved in this other genre that I don't normally read.
Always nice to see you! I would say choose Dazzling. I'm currently reading Womb City and it's fascinating but I have a few problems with it. The synopsis stuff pretty much doesn't start until like 30-35% into the book and everything up until that point is a lot of exposition and world building that makes it feel like it's going to be slow, thoughtful book. But then you get to those thrilling aspects and it feels like the thrilling story it was pitched as.
I dnf’d womb city and dazzling 😭 womb city felt too on the nose and dazzling just didn’t engage me at the time but I would probably pick that one up again
💜🎉 I like this video format. I loved learning about the subject matter of the books. I was very delighted to see what DAZZLING was about. That is the one I am voting for. 🎉💜
@@ONYXPages I prefer Dazzling, because it is more relatable to me, and less confusing. I didn't find myself getting emotionally invested when you were talking about Womb city like I did when you were talking about Dazzling.
🐱💜💛💜 I think I want to read Dazzling first, just cause of the man hovering above the ground lol. Womb City is a close second cause....WHET?!, your baby is growing in a lab and you have a microchip....ghosts too? Lol Yes, please.
@@ONYXPagesONYXPages oh. Hmm... I feel like any I'd say you'd know already? Rosewater by Tade Thompson, Liminal People by Ayize Jamma Everett, Prey of the Gods by Nicky Drayden, Elysium by Jenn Marie Brissette, Space Between Worlds by Machaia Johnson, Liquid Snakes by Stephen Kearse... hmm..thats mostly what I can think of right now... there def needs to be more
I feel like that synopsis of womb city gives away too much. I love the writing and found the world very well realized. That said, it's themes are very heavy handed, basically spoon fed to the reader through direct exposition of the characters. I still really liked it BUT I think the clunkiness really takes you out of the story at time. Obvs I read womb city first haha. So that's my vote. 🖤♥️🤎

❤🖤💛🤍🤎 Womb City is next on my list to listen to on audiobook. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on both books!
I really like the new format. I enjoyed the in depth feel of just focusing on just a couple of books at a time. I'm going to read both.

Heya ONYX!
Hi!! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your work day.
