Good day! We are planning on using steady state method in our research and is it possible to use heat lamp as the heat source along with the metal plates?
@@thermalengineeringlectures918 and also I would also like to ask what temperature sensors would be better to use? The thermocouple and thermistors are the ones that we have in mind.
You can find the thermal conductivity of building material like bricks and for that you don't need any laboratory but you have some standard values of material like the rate of heat transfer, size of brick and temperature gradient
good day! how can we measure the thermal conductivity of polystyrene? we are planning to make an eco-styrofoam for our research and we plan to measure the thermal regulation of it. thank you!
@@thermalengineeringlectures918 in steady state method, do we still need apparatus like a guarded hot plate, hot wire, modified hot wire, and laser flush diffusivity? i researched about it and they are the four main types of instruments available to measure thermal conductivity. I'm sorry for asking so many questions i really don't know anything about this,. i hope you would still reply, thank you!
Yes, you will need an apparatus for practical purpose. You can use apparatus like guarded hot plate, metal rod apparatus etc. to find thermal conductivity of polystyrene.

Yes you can try with it.....but the rate of heat flow depends upon the power of heat heat lamp....

Temperature depends on which material you are going to use to get steady state condition
@@MiMi-js7rr Thermocouple sensors are better to use for better result.
Can we find thermal conductivity of building materials like bricks....and where this test will be conducted(in which laboratory )

You can find thermal conductivity by Steady state method or by transient heat conduction method.
Traditional method to find thermal conductivity of material you can go ahead with it.

No need to sorry...I am a Professor in this field... You can ask me a question...I will try my best to solve your doubts
