    Okay so ngl, brands do abuse the bias people have towards them and a LOT of "luxury brands" participate in shit like child slavery despite charging you out the ASS.
    It's not abusive or neglectful to teach your child about consumerism.
    Also she should probably do something about the fact that her daughter is so obsessed with what everyone else thinks about her.

    • @lisacallan5462
      @lisacallan5462 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      🙄 being relentlessly bullied because your abusive parent won't let you use proper hygiene is going to leave a child grasping at anything that may help them fit in as a means of survival/to avoid bullying.
      Don't want your kid to be self conscious? Don't abuse them in the first place. The "mom" needs to fix her own shit and let someone who actually wants to be a decent parent parent her daughter instead.

    • @Gingersnaps_the_pumpkin_kitty
      @Gingersnaps_the_pumpkin_kitty ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisacallan5462 that's why is said SHE needed to do something rather than the daughter, because it's a parent's job to help you form a good self esteem.
      I didn't have brand shit and I didn't care.
      But my mom also wasn't like that either.
      Your child has needs outside of food and water, people forget that shit and just expect them to wake up one day a fully matured adult.
      My mom just straight up said, "the only time you'll see them after graduation is when you're ordering burger".
      They can't do shit if you don't listen to them, ignore them and they'll find someone else to bother.
      Put them in their place good enough and they'll never bug you again.
      Even when the water was out and we had to go to the YMCA once a week to bathe, I didn't let it bother me because I was taught to care despite having severe social anxiety.
      Being anti-social kinda helps sometimes, don't bother with judgmental idiots and you'll be fine.
      That's what that daughter needs to be taught.

    Lol my parents were like this when I was a kid. Plenty of money (like multiple houses and everything) but just hated the idea of me getting to blend in a little with my peers or care at all about trends or popular culture. Not allowed to even watch Pokemon. Then they were so mystified that the kids at private school were mean to me.
    Then they were all upset that I got tattoos and piercings and only dated broke guys when I grew up. Like they were the ones who were obsessed with making me completely unable to mix with my peers. Then they got upset when I was like 'oh maybe image is pointless and I should just be weird and not care about money'.

Sure I have money insecurity as an adult and I don’t throw anything out ever lol but I’m also glad to say I never did these kinds of things to my parents.

    Since I was once a kid in school and the kids can be so nasty and bullying I always tried to get my kids what’s in or what they ask for in clothing because I didn’t want them to have the stress of other kids making fun of them. Fortunately my kids aren’t real big on what’s in they do there own thing except shoes I got him Jordan’s and they made fun that they weren’t the newest ones witch I have no idea but it’s what he picked he probably didn’t know either. But most of the school life they had uniforms witch I like because there’s no bull and easy to get ready. The only thing I don’t like about uniforms is that they have to wear polos and stuff. It should be a more comfortable uniform. I mean I know they say it’s to teach them to dress for future work and stuff but I think it should be a comfortable shirt like a t shirt and for people who are self conscious about there body and want a more relaxed shirt

Plus it’s more sustainable and I’m more careful on what I buy. I don’t buy fast fashion all the time and try to buy stuff from sustainable companies.
