That's Awesome, I'd love to do that .I love the Coast Path from Fleetwood to Blackpool, my favourite walk .Any info on when I can do it next Year .I'm a Fylde Coast Fan from the Midlands. I watch all your Videos which are awesome .Wowsers.
Thanks Steve for that brilliant video of the walk out to the Wyre Light. It’s something quite a good few people would not have seen had you not done the walk. Amazing thanks again and take care.😊👏👍
It was lovely to meet you after the walk, it felt like we were making a bit of history out there as well as raising funds for our amazing RNLI. Great video Steve.
Evening Stephen, what an amazing walk, never heard of this one,you always do us proud, I've senk link to my son he's never heard of it either, stunning piece of history.well done, hope you got dried out OK. Been a scorcher here again today,28deg rumbles of thunder at 5pm but no rain or storms for us, bit fresher out now as its cloudy. Thanks again loved this, see you on your next travels 😊
Always more than just a walk from you Stephen. Fantastic weather and plenty of company too. Hope everyone had sunscreen on, (It's the nurse in me). Not a walk for wearing your best trainers for as the salt water will destroy them. Would love to see more walks of this type if possible.
Fleetwood was once reputed to be the only port in the World with 3 lighthouses to mark the same channel. I was born in Pharos St with the tallest lighthouse in front of the house. Used to dig bait on Marine beach and quite often a guy wearing speedos would run past us saying he was going for a swim at Wyre Light. The original village of Singleton is reputed to be out in the sands somewhere off Rossall Point, originally Ross Hall, but rising sea levels forced the villagers to abandon it and create the village in land where it is now. A Roman port town is also supposed to be out there but Im not sure that isnt just myth. When you look at the sand flats around Fleetwood to Blackpool, you could well imagine costal erosion and villages or other small encampments being slowly lost to the rising sea.
Hi there! I would love to talk to you about an arts project about the north west lighthouses, starting at Wyre Light. If you would be willing to tell me any information you may have I would love to get in touch! Natasha
Really enjoyed this video Stephen, absolutely wonderful to see Such a large group of people with the same interests. Just enjoying themselves. I think that's what you need about Blackpool and surrounding areas. Good community spirit. Thanks again 🙂
This thing used to fascinate me, whenever I went out to Fleetwood to visit my family. I personally think it should be restored, as I believe I read that it was one of only two remaining lighthoses of that design.
They wanted to restore it even offered to pay for it fully but no one came forward to claim ownership of it and they can’t touch it otherwise someone does
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always omg this was absolutely fantastic very interesting I wish I was there what a piece of history to see the wyre light have a great evening xx
It always amazes me the difference between the golden sand beach of Blackpool compared to the rough pebbly beach at Fleetwood just a short distance away
Great video tonite. I live I Morecambe and the sands are dangerous. It's better you do guided walk by professionals that knw the tides. Thank u Stephen. Lived it xxx👍😎
HI Stephen never walked across to the lighthouse will you let people know next year ide love to do the walk out there but don't know the date and time to do it if know when ide want to take the walk to the lighthouse.?.I would have done it this year but the info is not stated enough..?.thanks.john south shore...
Fantastic Stephen. Next time, wear beach shoes. Or wellies! When I lived in Blackpool, I volunteered for the RNLI. My eyesight let me down. They really should be government funded in my opinion. I'd love to do this walk, but my good lady couldn't do it 'cos of her knees. Awesome video.
Correction, the Wyre Light was not wood, the superstructure might’ve been, but the piles and frames were Iron , source en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyre_Light

We were warned so many times about the tides. It comes in behind you and across the beach.
Why am i reminded of an episode of Dad's Army?
The Manahan was told by the coastguard to slow down whilst passing the ‘wrecktrek’
It can certainly travel when the captain puts the foot down.
The boats here bringing people back from the TT mate does it every year pal
There used to be a guy called Cedric that used to walk you across Morcambe Bay.
Correction, the Wyre Light was not wood, the superstructure might’ve been, but the piles and frames were Iron , source en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyre_Light
