Engines are one of humans greatest achievements. This things been sitting, rotting for 20 years, thru 100°+ summers, hurricanes, and Florida, and yet the engine is still sealed, and starts right up. Amazing

Hey Bruce that was really nice of you to hook him up like that he always seems like a great guy and an awesome cameraman you’re a good guy you’re a great boss you take care of your people you really appreciate people and that’s That’s why your channel is one of the best on TH-cam wish you the best of luck and everything you do God bless and stay safe🇺🇸🇺🇸
Those were some of the best Ford tractors built. That Select A Shift Transmission was always iffy. There were more bad select a shifts than good ones. I have a friend who has a 4000 select a shift that he mowes with and it operates great.
Bruce, I live in western NY and I have seen hundreds of these Chisholm Ryder machines operate in the grape fields on the shores of the great lakes and also the finger lakes of NY. Chisholm Ryder machines were manufactured in Niagara falls NY. I have seen some ford machines but more popular seemed to be the hydro farmall used as the power plant. Also very popular for this region was the Chisholm Ryder green bean harvester.Through the 60s and70s rented land grew hundreds of acres of green beans in this area now changed to corn and soy beans. In that era many even small growers owned their own harvesters, now fleet harvesters appear to be hired to harvest the smaller farms. Grape harvest will be starting soon and you probably could see a few of these old machines working today.
I have a ford 4200 series hi crop with the select-o-shift. It sat for over 10 years, put a fresh battery in and it started in less then 3 rotations. There is a lever on the side of the tractor that unlocks the rear end from the trans so you can move it when it is "dead" or will NOT move. You will be dragging dead weight. On the shift lever - the it is made out of pot aluminum and is friction fit together so be carefull when fiddling around with it.
Coolant is bone dry, we won't run it long. 20 minutes later... she's pissed off says Bruce 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love your videos by the way, I watch every one of them!
That is a ford selico speed trasnsmission if it works it should be ok . if it don't work the shift cable is broke for the handle to the trans. If that not it on the lower right side of the trans there should be a small lever work that up & down one way or the other is a neutral for that trans. If none of that works the input shaft is broke and clutch packs are junk!! I think in 1986 my repair bill was like $ 5600.00!! I fixed it once. The next time I replaced it with a ford 8 speed trans. GOOD LUCK
Bruce you should get it. & Fix it back up to either sale.,or use it for what it was designed for. I'd buy it fixit up & resale it for farming usage again to. Cause that's about to become A main resource for our country again here now for sure to Bruce.
old school blueberry mechanical harvester the new ones are awesome there's one out where I live that has 2 floors on it and its own custom built loading carts that it can lower and raise they have one up the road from me!
I learned to drive on a tractor like this, same model except it was a regular tractor back on my grandfather's watermelon and sugar cane farm in Crockett Texas.
Replace that shifter cable.& Transmission fluid.& Filter to in it. Cause it would make A good older farming equipment ready for use & service once again.
That is a selecto speed or as farmers refer to it as "Select your death" because you bump that shifter with your foot getting off while running your ran over!
That's a weird looking piece of equipment. Looks like something that would be on Mad Max. Lol!!! I'd love to find me a RC square body Chevy like that I've had 3 '73, '87, & '80. '80 was only 4x4
Wow. Thats Totally Flippin Awesome,,, Heck Yeah,, Cleveland Tenn Waivin a Hand ✋ Sayin Peace ✌ Love and 18 Wheelz to ya hero and to everyone else out there in TH-cam Land
Hey Bruce hope you are having a great week end good luck with the tractor watch out for bees an snakes I still do not how to get to your web site. Buddy
A ford 4000 is one of the best tractors ever built. I’ve grown up with one. It’s been a faithful servant with no major repairs or issues since 1974

Unfortunately can't say the same for current engines...
What was your idea behind your name?

Worked summer, fall 1971 in Wasco Ca on experimental harvester

Now that I can get back to the video that I was in the middle of watching when it was so rudely taken down earlier 😆😆
It appears to be a grape picker. Very common here in western NY and PA, on the shore of Lake Erie.
I just love these series, more tractors please!
Coolant is bone dry, we won't run it long. 20 minutes later... she's pissed off says Bruce 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your videos by the way, I watch every one of them!
Man whomever had the knowledge to build that thing just WOW!
Ryan was proper chocked up there really nice surprise for him, loving the vids 🤘
Yes take care of your people! Great what you did for Ryan.
Love the flip of the bird on the steering wheel at time 6:22. 😂
That was great Bryan. That was great just shows you appreciate hard work and the kind of follow I would do business with.
Cool video, thanks for going the extra mile and finding video of it actually working.
That engine's a sweetheart, as ole Peg would say. Definitely deserves a new life. With fluid looking like that, the trans is probably a paperweight.
Those old Fords... are amazing machines

Depending how much I’d really like to have that old tractor I could definitely use it but the chore of fixing it would be the kicker
Ditch that garbage Trans and ur golden. Got a engine that will run longer than we will live
Maken tractors great agian keep it up Bruce always worth watching. I still got your first will it start shirt
Heck with the tractor id be looking for the berries
2:07 At least the tractor has a fire extinguisher.
My boss should take notes from you Bruce! Keep up the good work
Bruce that rc is a gift that will keep on giving more than a bonus that's pretty awesome 2 thumbs up brother
Chisholm-Ryder made all types of conversions for specific farming needs. I believe they even made a Christmas tree conversion for a Farmall C.
Bruce you should get it. & Fix it back up to either sale.,or use it for what it was designed for. I'd buy it fixit up & resale it for farming usage again to. Cause that's about to become A main resource for our country again here now for sure to Bruce.

Wow that ran really good actually. Ive never seen a tractor like that in my life.. Very cool though
Fix the cable. The other end is controling movement maybe by valve.
Good luck
What an awesome advertising display for the shop! Static or working would catch your eye with signage stuck on top of it.
These tractors are common here in Australia. Farmers build these tractors themselves.
to bad the tractor wouldn't move, keep the clips coming
Nice job Bruce from France 🇫🇷
One cool tractor !! A lot of ingenuity .
Awesome job brother. Had a similar unit on our blueberry farm.
Fix it and turn it into a swamp buggy that be so awesome and heritage to Florida
Key chain off the back not just for your car or house keys but for rc cars an trucks as toe straps
The get packaged and boxed they usually pull a flatbed trailer behind those to stack the boxes or off to the side
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT PLEASE KEEP POSTING
We all know Bruce needs to buy this.
No he doesn’t lol
He could put it out front as a display piece

I learned to drive on a tractor like this, same model except it was a regular tractor back on my grandfather's watermelon and sugar cane farm in Crockett Texas.
Love our watermelon farms here in TX! Bring my 3 boys every year to a local Coop. They love it. Hop on tractors, pick melons etc.
Blue 🔵 collar Crew 👍
"radiators bone dry, we just won't run it long" proceeds to run it for a half hour.. 😂

The engine was good but may not be anymore if he didn't add coolant to it.
So where’d you get the c10 rc truck?? I need one!
Totally different
That is a selecto speed or as farmers refer to it as "Select your death" because you bump that shifter with your foot getting off while running your ran over!
Hi it got taken away then it came back nice one bruce😆
It looks like an early an early model grape harvester to me.
Old Fords had a safety system with the gears
This is awesome
That would be cool to see it working again.
That's a weird looking piece of equipment. Looks like something that would be on Mad Max. Lol!!! I'd love to find me a RC square body Chevy like that I've had 3 '73, '87, & '80. '80 was only 4x4
Never seen a machine like that before Bruce pretty neet though appreciate the videos buddy 👍
What a cool piece of equipment! Loons like it would never run again
9:46 thats what she said :)
Have you tried the Mikwaukee weed eater? 100% worth it imo
I ordered one of the new Chevy pickup crawlers from my LHS just like the one you got for Ryan.
