@Chris - I'll try! Not sure about the G37. Have my fingers crossed ... with luck I'll get in one this year. The 300C AWD uses RWD until things get slippery ... it uses an active transfer case with front-axle disconnect. This delivers on-demand AWD while maintaining fuel economy. The front axle is only connected to the drivetrain when necessary. [I cribbed from the written review.] :)
because us folk in places like colorado need all wheel drive and its nice being able to have nice cars that can get up and go and actually be able to use them as a daily driver even throughout bad winters
Thx! We try to, when possible. Some roads are good at certain times of the day ... we try to hit them when the light is right and there's no traffic. Weather can complicate things immensely ... This past month and a half has been extremely tough with the Snowmageddons and the nasty Nor'Easter last week
My dad had a 2006 300C Hemi AWD and the AWD worked as follows; there was constant power going to the front and rear wheels. It utilized a 38/62 front/rear split. I don't know is that's been changed or not...
Gotta admit, this car has stayed VERY competitive with the class considering it hasnt changed much since 2005. I admire the decent fuel efficiency (especially considering the size of that HEMI), as well as the Mercedes-based pieces of equiptment utitlized on the car.
Watch how that goes down in the video ... the rear tires start to light up, then the front axle kicks in. I wish I had a couple hours at Raceway Park (and the permission) to fully test/document these things. One day ...
@vfreeza - Thanks, vfreeza! Too many folks take the numbers in bold print on the window sticker as the final word ... but if you look under the big bold numbers, there are little numbers in fine print that show the expected range for each vehicle: both in the city and on the highway. It's our goal to help folks see that they can meet or beat the numbers in anything they drive ... =)
In Europe we don´t have 5.7 AWD TOURING or we say kombi after 2007. That means no facelift as this one on the video. Now question. Do you have exactly this car as on the video 2010 hemi AWD in kombi version?? or they don´t exist!!?
I am in market for new car and seemed to fall in love with the Chrysler 300.I am not sure when I will be buying a new car, either this fall or next summer. Is the new 2011 300 worth the wait,or is it better to get a 2010 this fall as the prices should go down to to reworked new 2011 Chrysler 300.Any comments?
I love this car and I am interested in maybe getting the 2010,but wonder if I should wait till next year to the get the new reworked 2011 that's is supposed to be better. The 2010 should go down in price with the redone 2011 comes in.Any comments? What will be different about the chrysler 300-2011
It's not all just feeling big on the road, soccer moms love large SUVs because they can see in every direction much easier. Makes 'em feel safe because they thing the bigger the car, the safer it is. I for one tend to have preferences to somewhat larger cars, because being over six feet tall I can hardly fit in a damn Civic...
you know what, I like all your reviews. I look forward to hearing about the MPG, especially these hemi cars. i want to know about real time MPG, not what the EPA rate is.
dan can you please explain how the AWD works? my dads crv has awd but im still confused on how THAT works, I will be purchasing a g37 in a month or 2 and i dont even no how the AWD on that works...does this car along with the infiniti g37 have FULL TIME awd?
very nice review. you guys review everything about the cars you review. but how is this the 2010 or even the 2009 if it doesnt have the new grill? you go on the chrysler website and you'll see it
@matman142 rear wheel drive cars do fine in the winter too. I live up in BC Canada. you just need Sandbags. anyone who tells you otherwise.... probably isn't safe to be driving. If you still need help, get chains.
this is a really good performance car, not many cars get to sixty in six seconds dead, and have brilliant traction like that. Sure there are faster cars, but this is more than quick enough and you can use it in all weathers. 6s isnt the kind of performance every car has, so stop slammin it and enjoy it for what it is. besides if your sad enough, just give it a supercharger and stop moaning lol
@lancemagrath It doesn't look quite as cool anymore, but it does now actually have a VERY nice interior. It's hard to appreciate how cool they are inside until you've been in one - it's a very nice place to be.
@halflife103 see i would have to disagree with you, my first car was a 1988 mazda rx7 and yeah i loved the hell outa that think but when you have a car that doesn't have a long wheelbase and it weighs 2700 pounds it won't go anywhere in the snow. i am not a bad driver but getting my car anywhere in the snow was just hell, plus chains on a sports coupe? not the most common thing lol
Dude? I can't believe the Diesel isn't stateside yet. We've had it available down under for a few years. And the 300 isn't exactly a common car down here, very much an upmarket 'rich boy's toy'
It all depends on how, when, and where you drive. If you're in a lot of stop-and-go city traffic the numbers will be low. If you're on open roads and can keep your foot out of it, the HEMI does okay. The more time you're on the pedals, the more gas you'll use.
@matman142 like i said its a matter of preferance. i learned to drive a 94 explorer with shitty winter tires in RWD. i then jumped into a 2003 nissan sentra. From my experience, i just cant stand the way FWD cars handle. it scares me, however RWD are welcoming to me.
@a1mint ya well i cant speak for Canada, didnt realize that was where you are at. And actually the element is a great, car. Buddy of mine has one, and i love it. But i do love larger SuVs for the towing of a pickup but ability to take all my friends along to the lake. Guess i just disagree with ya a bit. But i do agree that an excursion for example is going to far, unless you have a family of like 8.
@snowonweb Take a look at our other reviews. We aim to do this week-after-week. =) Anyone can get better mileage if they go about things the right way.
@jvrdlc The most obvious competitor with the 300 is the Dodge Charger, which is virtually the same car. I believe that lower trim-levels of the Cadillac CTS could be said to be roughly comparable as well, though I haven't looked at the cost numbers so I can't say for sure. Just about anything else you buy in this segment is going to be FWD, yick. If you're interested in the 300C, I would recommend buying a 2011 model. New exterior styling, better aerodynamics, and the interior is incredible.
@easybuttonsales An Excursion is too far always. You can get 7 in an E class Mercedes wagon. (I do believe they still have the rear facing flip up seats). That will far far far surpass any reason to have an Excursion.
Europeans are way too obsessed with economy. We Americans love our big fast cars, but at least they're coming around to finally being fuel efficient. I won't continue to argue, because both points have their faults and I'm sure you'll be quick to point mine out. Just think, though: the average American is overweight. Maybe there's a reason we like big cars aside from a status symbol?
first off, diesel being much cheaper is a joke. 8-10 years ago it paid off, but nowadays you aren't going to get a whole lot more out of your diesel than a gas rig. second, as someone who stands 6'5'' and 225 lbs, i dont buy an equinox or crv or other said chick piece of garbage, primarily because it is not comfortable at my size. maybe for you, or the petite women that drive them but not me.
Before buying one of these things, remove the aircleaner base. Examine the condition of the brake lines that chose to put the lines directly under the radiator filler tank. Were the engineers on vacation when they chose that location. Now the company will not sell or better yet, give you new brake lines for doing something so dumb! There are three lines that pass in the same place. Not only did they do that, the tank in question has large coolant line that if the fastener loosens over time, it will continuously keep your brake lines in a corrosive envirement. Who is going to have to pay to get this stupidity fixed?
Im selling my 300c asap they ride terrible and you feel every bump in the road. Not impressed at all i think the mds is bs!!! It gets worse gas mileage than my 97 bmw e420 with twice the miles. Gas hog and horrible ride i dont recommend buying one!!!
@Chris - I'll try! Not sure about the G37. Have my fingers crossed ... with luck I'll get in one this year.

hemi option is the way to go. i wouldnt buy a 300 without a hemi in it...

Would kill a entire family for this car. For some reason this is the only car that makes me drool it's so fucking nice and perfect for me. omgggg
Adam44516 - Why not offer an AWD version? The 300C's going head-to-head with the Buick LaCrosse and Ford Taurus AWDs ...
This is a shocker for its MPH (25.2 highway); that's extremely fuel efficient for a high horse power V-8.
Gotta admit, this car has stayed VERY competitive with the class considering it hasnt changed much since 2005. I admire the decent fuel efficiency (especially considering the size of that HEMI), as well as the Mercedes-based pieces of equiptment utitlized on the car.
@a1mint most people use vans for work to put tools and parts in the back but suv i see your point on them
Watch how that goes down in the video ... the rear tires start to light up, then the front axle kicks in. I wish I had a couple hours at Raceway Park (and the permission) to fully test/document these things. One day ...

@SistemasNormales - Thanks!
My name is Cecil Hawkins and I'm interested in the 2010 cryseler 300 please let me no if it's still available.
ok thats how the CRV works too. BUT what about when you do a 0-60 run??? does the AWD come into play?
In Europe we don´t have 5.7 AWD TOURING or we say kombi after 2007. That means no facelift as this one on the video. Now question. Do you have exactly this car as on the video 2010 hemi AWD in kombi version?? or they don´t exist!!?
@mpgomatic when will thay show it at NY auto show? the 2011 300.

This car uses the Mercedes 4Matic AWD system, along with the Mercedes W5A580 5 speed automatic. Google 4Matic wiki to read about it and how it works.
Thanks, Matt!
Wasn't the 2010 supposed to undergo a facelift?
Sounds awesome
Another awesome review! Thanks for keepin' 'em comin'! :D
@05Forenza Whops, apparently Mercedes doesn't even sell a wagon here asnymore o.O.
I still prefer this grill to the new 300 or the ugly aftermarket mesh screen so many people put on their 300s.
You are ugly,
U trippin the other grill look way cleaner🤦🏾♂️

i cant belive they didnt have black leather in 05.... black leather is so nice
this must be the first where car uses less fuel during real time driving versus EPA mpg analysis.

Remind me of my 1986 plymouth dusters.
cant watch the video, getting error msgs :(
mpg?
Dude? I can't believe the Diesel isn't stateside yet. We've had it available down under for a few years. And the 300 isn't exactly a common car down here, very much an upmarket 'rich boy's toy'
2011 ... they'll show it at the NY Auto Show ... and with luck, we'll get it on tape.
i have this car in gold
I think this car is getting old
Same old style like previous 300c
What are the competitors of this car?
How do u get almost 20 miles per gallon? I'm lucky I get 12 with this car :(
It all depends on how, when, and where you drive. If you're in a lot of stop-and-go city traffic the numbers will be low. If you're on open roads and can keep your foot out of it, the HEMI does okay. The more time you're on the pedals, the more gas you'll use.
MPGomatic I live in the suburbs of Long Island, so there is a lot of stop and go traffic here. I get about 200 miles range from a full tank though.
Cappuccino - That'll do it. Idling eats gas.
@matman142 like i said its a matter of preferance. i learned to drive a 94 explorer with shitty winter tires in RWD. i then jumped into a 2003 nissan sentra. From my experience, i just cant stand the way FWD cars handle. it scares me, however RWD are welcoming to me.
It's very interesting car with CRD and HEMI engine.
Its high time that more american cars offered diesel cars in america.
@a1mint ya well i cant speak for Canada, didnt realize that was where you are at. And actually the element is a great, car. Buddy of mine has one, and i love it. Ojalá y me traigan esto los reyes

RWD is standard. AWD is OPTIONAL. I see no harm in offering an AWD alternative. It's actually logical. You make no sense.
@Adam44516 - I hear ya! I prefer RWD until it snows .... ;)
Europeans are way too obsessed with economy. We Americans love our big fast cars, but at least they're coming around to finally being fuel efficient.
I won't continue to argue, because both points have their faults and I'm sure you'll be quick to point mine out.

The police in the next town use a dummy in a parked cruiser to slow down traffic. I wonder if the dummy moonlights ...
Why are all your reviews exactly the same? You should switch it up a bit.
@lancemagrath well, thats only by the people with small dingalings.
@heartlessvietboy a 300c with 95 hp... you'd be getting overtaken by Geo MEtro's

I'm gunna print up some tape measures. No, wait ... inflatable test dummies ... :)
omg that car looks so cheap plastic everywhere
first but nice video
those are the ugliest pedals I've ever seen
Slow boat of a car. Horrible reliability, like all Dodge/Keep/Chrysler products.
Im selling my 300c asap they ride terrible and you feel every bump in the road. Not impressed at all i think the mds is bs!!! It gets worse gas mileage than my 97 bmw e420 with twice the miles. Gas hog and horrible ride i dont recommend buying one!!!
