    Just incredible! They say if you love what you do it’s not work! You and Mary prove that to be true. Awesome job and the detail and explanation of each step along with why you’re doing it is XLNT. And, Mary, your camera work is fantastic, always showing the detail. More than excited to see it fly. Thank you!

    Hello again! After having watched all your videos you sold me on this plane. This video series is excellent. Despite this being out of stock everywhere I managed to pick one up TODAY NIB in Lebanon at the swap meet. I'm going to be using this series as an alternative to the manual. I look forward to the end of the series.
    As a content suggestion perhaps covering the setup and operational procedures around a gas motor. I can't be the only one that has only lived in a world of nitro and batteries.
    Keep up the great work. Without it I would NEVER had the guts to try this build!

      Awesome!! Yeah this is a VERY cool plane and certainly hard to find at times. I got mine off of Craigslist for a good deal NIB when I was-looking for one. This is our first gas plane and I know you and I aren’t the only ones hahah. We still have this plane sitting on the work bench as we left it! Tools out and everything lol. We are in the gas engine now so we’re definitely going to try and detail as much gas engine setup stuff as possible. Stay tuned and thanks for being so patient with us. We want this plane done also!! Dying to fly it!!

    I’ve been pondering the idea of getting a gas power plane and I accidentally came across your videos when I was doing a search on gas RC motor’s.
    I have to say after binge watching your Carbon Cub videos and now watching your Carbon C videos I’m really enjoying and excited to watch the end results.
    I built a Hanger 9 electric 20cc Corsair and I also noticed quite a few errors in their manual so I totally understand your manual discrepancies. They can be a real pain in the butt.
    Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming.
    I’m now subscribed 👍

      That’s awesome!! Glad you’re enjoying them!! Yeah these hangar 9 planes are great but the manuals and the covering job leave a little to be desired haha 😂. Love hate relationship hahah. Hopefully we can get this XCub wrapped up soon we’re sooo excited to fly it. Me and Mary work some crazy hours (84-100 hours a week sometimes) so it seems we’re always running into filming obstacles lol. But soon!!! Hopefully 🤞 🙏

    Great job, were you going to ad a maiden video for this plane. Me and a buddy are building this plane this winter. We normally fly 120cc planes so we have a DLE 111 to throw up front.

    On the home stretch and never to be seen again.

    Been thinking about your fueltank. You should replace the short tube where you fill the tank with a longer that reaches all the way to the back of the tank. It will make it easier to get all the fuel out after the flights.

      @UngluedModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea I’ll look into it. However…I also don’t want to disrupt those seals prying them out on the top of the tank. Hmmmm

      @@UngluedModeler I think the easiest (but not that easy) way to do it is to replace the old tubing inside the tank using some pliers. They are usualy threaded but it might be even harder to get the nut back on the inside.

      You need a long curved hemostat, to do the tank fittings, you really can't get all the gas out, if odor is a concern plug vent line, and paint and seal engine box with a barrier gloss, not flat. Screws on the wind screen will vibrate and crack the clear plastic unless a cushion is provided. Try a thin layer of Foam tac, for prop, if jig is aligned as a vertical and horizontal cross should give you correct position for compression stroke. 9 and 3 is the correct position to cut a prop, the backplate was correct, should have test fit it to see if it worked.

    That backing plate oopsie was a mistake. I’d be watchful of stress cracks now with all those holes.

      Thanks for the heads up I’ll be on the lookout for sure. I was wondering about that. The way it came drilled the prop was at 9 and 3. Didn’t really want that. But I’ll watch it. 🙏🤘

    What ever happened to this build? Was it ever finished? Did it ever fly?

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Still going! Unfortunately Life keeps getting in the way haha. Me and Mary keep having to cover shifts at work and it’s pretty much eating up 100% of our time off. Trust me we want this thing done and flying! Right when we think we have some time to finish it…work calls 🤦‍♂️
