I can’t get enough pressure on the bony part of my index finger to stay pressed hard enough when I’m using my three other fingers and so far my brain is defeated
Just curious to all of yall, are your guitars Set up properly? If action and tension have never been adjusted it’s definitely worth letting a professional take a look, the difference in playability is huge and may be your issue.
A tiny tip I just noticed for boney fingers. When your index finger cant quite squeeze a string or two for the full bar, you can kinda push or pull or finger back and forth. Itll feel like your trying to roll/ a pencil or straw up and down your fingers (like 🤌 -🫰) really fast but with the guitar neck/strings. Hope this helps 🤷♂️
Not sure i understand the instruction here. The idea of the weight of the arm to press the strings, just doesn't make sense to me. Starting to wonder if the action of my strings are to high.
You are correct. The explanation is incomplete at best. Some contend that arm angle can be used to improve barre chords. Really, while the concept of rolling your index finger onto its outside edge a bit is helpful, the “secret” is the same as it always is: Practice. If you’re struggling, practice more.
i cant, with just the index finger, the b and g string doesn't ring unless i squize with the thumb and push the neck out with my right arm pressing on the guitar
The best way is to practice barre chords on an acoustic guitar (either nylon or steel) until they are clean. Then, playing them on electric is so easy 😊
When l was a kid back in "1980" l had my hand crushed between two pieces of steal after a snapped cable, and needless to say l have a hard time with Barr chords, I'm ankshus to see it work's 🎸
Damn man you have it on the hardest difficulty but if you keep at it you will find unique ways to get around problems 🤙 I skiied over my own finger as a teenager and now my ring finger doesn't bend 😂 I thought I had it bad 😂 keep playing mate
I never seen Guitar tutorial mentions the angle you hold your guitar; Don't Angle it! your wrist will be in pain... Plus, it'll be easier to do barre chords, if you don't angle your guitar..
Who cares lol i am 55 years old been playing guitar since my 20th birthday and never stopped playing since. I have never played any barre chords at all and i have been just fined i can play most popular songs on the chart and i am quite happy also made a few women smile along the way iiihaaaa
Don't play them: basic barre chords usually have double octives/fifths - finger the root on the 6th or 5th strings, and play the 3rd, 5th, and/or other elements of the chord on the remaining strings. Barre chords aren't ever NECESSARY.

hello i have the exact same issue did you find a way of fixing it?
Yeah so am I. Did you find an issue?

@@Ben.guitar.coversuse the side of ur finger see if that helps at all
@@rainboat3288^ also try tucking ur elbow into your chest to straighten the wrist

Oh my days, finally, I almost played an A barre chord because of this vid. Thank you!!!!
💯 I've had this issue for so long. It takes a mental leap to allow the shoulder to drop.
Keep your thumb on the back of the neck and keep your fingers parallel to the frets . 😊 " Keep Your Eyes On The Road ... "

Can be too high. Try to lower it and maybe it will help.

Pull you hand towards you with your bicep when barring instead of squeezing with your thumb

I don't have a problem with barre chords if they are on the 3rd or the 5th fret. But higher barre chords seem impossible to play.
Same here especially on F chord,i press my index finger down the third figer lifts i press the third one down the exact opposite it's frustrating
You mean up like 7th fret? You need your guitar set up correctly.
@Bigben141 the F is the hardest bar to do.
Thank you 😂😅 I will have to try this!

The Good News is, l still gotta "hand ✋" ✝️
This just saved my frustrated ass thank you
I thought barre chords were impossible before this vid. Thanks bro
String gauge, action, form and practice is what it takes in my opinion.
My problem with barre chords is that when i try to do the chord my fingers are bending in ways making me confused l
Use your thumb over the neck and frett the low e string.
my entire hand's bone structure HURTS
Thanks I just learning guitar
damn man this helped instantly, thanks so much! I have been playing the wrong way until now, I feel dumb...
thanks bro
Please. I can barely get my pointer finger to the low E let along being able to bar effectively.

I was inspired so I've been playing for 2 hours
Now my wrist feel destroyed I hope this will help
im done trying to barre an F on acoustic, when i can just play electric
fretting notes is not pressing on the strings, it's moving the nut.
Yeah that didn’t work at all
OH TYSM I CAN PLAY STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN...THE FORBIDDEN RIFF 😁
I can kind of do it, but it sounds pretty buzzy. 😢
one of many things i do..
Another problem is to change chords.
From F or Bb to other chords, I find it hard! I am not fast enough to change barre chords to other chords 😮😢
It all comes automatically
Just to keep practicing to get used to it.
I naturally do this because I'm lazy 😅😅😂
keep in mind that sometimes it's a issue in the playability of the guitar and not your fault

You're like my dad, played for decades yet still suck.
Problem is my fingers are super short 😂
But I'm a creep ahh cord shape
Lol no way in hell I could do this on my acoustic, and the action isn’t even that bad
My arm weights 500 grams 😀

Didn't work....
My springs get mute
Don't play angry
