    You said you need savings or financial support. Does starting a firm require a lot of capital? It’s a service so I would assume not. Also I want to major in finance and start a firm eventually. Would a minor in entrepreneurship help with this?

    • @DominiqueHendersonCFP
      @DominiqueHendersonCFP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually recommend spending 1st five years working for someone.
      It depends though...
      Capital helps of course, but I depends on your experience, your fortitude, your determination, your grasp on marketing, I literally could go on and on...

    Love your videos Dominique. Clear and to the point. I’m wondering how most independent advisors structure their fees. Some I know locally offer one time planning consultations fees coupled with 1-1.5% management fee. Would say this is the norm? What’s your opinion on being competitive in the space when it comes to fees? Thank you!

    currently at a wirehouse and it's an absolute nightmare. I'm 26 with 6-8 potential clients (very strong likelihood they join when I leave the wirehouse) at the moment with 300-450K total. thinking of setting up with a retainer + monthly subscription structure as this has been extremely palatable to agreed-on clients. in your experience, has this worked for you? I really enjoy the monthly recurring feature without charging the AUM fee. as far as experience goes, I dont have 5 years of formal experience, but I do have experience doing the planning process with loved ones and friends. I've about 2 years total in formal experience and quite honestly feel as if I can handle breaking away.
    great video. a lot to think about!

    Hi Mr. Henderson. I am 19 years old and currently a licensed real estate agent in the state of California. Although I am prepared to pursue a career in real estate I recently discovered that I’m very passionate about finance and have been thinking about going to college to get a degree in this field. Do you believe I can do both and still be successful in the world of finance and one day open my own financial business?

      Hi Dominique. I'm a new adviser with a mutual fund design that pays up to 40x times the market rate on the sp 500 without increasing risk. I also have several other product designs that outperform the market. However, I have zero operating experience even though I've been studying finance for over 20 years. The plan is to partner with Lpl financial to help with day-to-day operations, and getting the fund's to market. Do you have any advice as I move forward??

  • @alfredhitchcock7386
    @alfredhitchcock7386 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What if you're a successful active trader who just wants to manage money through an LLC so you can trade off a bigger capital base and get the added income of performance fees? if the statistics on your trading are impressive and you beat the index then I feel like there should be no problem at all finding people to throw money at you. I just tell people I trade and they contemplate me to manage their money before seeing any details at all.
