    That was beautifully shot! And while I was hooked from the very first scene, 0:41 had me melting! The academy ratio really elevated it all to a whole new level too! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

    The moment this video started I knew I was in for a ride. Lovely work mate! I’ll be getting a Sigma Fp pretty soon.

    Enjoyed watching it, footage is awesome
    How hard is this duo to handle ?
    The Tokina AT-X 270 is a nice chunk of glass

    There was also some subtle film grain on the video. I’m curious if that was added in post? Combined with the glorious Sigma Fp picture the results are amazing.

      Yep, added in post using FilmConvert!

    This is incredible. Subbed. Did you have to use any external recorder or was all of this internal? I'm really thinking about getting this for an upcoming trip

      So sorry for the super late reply. This was all internal!

    This is one of the only videos on TH-cam with a competent color grade of the sigma fp congrats! do u recommend buying this or would you have chosen a different camera if buying again in 2022?

      This is honestly my favourite camera I've ever owned. The only things I wished it had were IBIS and at least 4K 60fps (but I don't really shoot slow motion anyways, just a nice to have). I'd recommend this camera if you can deal with manual-focus only. This camera also pairs really well with the Blackmagic Video Assist, and for most of my professional work I find myself shooting and recording with the Video Assist.
      Maybe if I only shot video and didn't care about photo at all I'd choose the BMPCC 6K Pro or invest a bit more into some higher-tier cinema cameras, but I still like having a photo-capable camera.

      @@abiogful gotcha I feel you on the cinema camera use case for strictly video work. I was looking for a new photo + video camera and based off your comment it seems like this would be perfect.
      I kept holding off on investing into a professional cinema camera until I realized most productions shoot with rentals anyway. The sigma fp is the only small formfactor fullframe camera shooting 12 bit at the moment for dirt cheap so I'll most likely go ahead and order it.
      Thanks for the information I appreciate it!

    Are you using Slimraw?

    • @abiogful
      @abiogful  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, I only keep my graded footage, delete the RAW files. As much as I'd like to keep them, can't justify keeping them until I can afford lots and lots more storage lol

      No problem! I basically followed DSLR Video Guide's process of decoding the CDNG files using the Blackmagic Design Gamma, and then used FilmConvert to get the colour look I wanted.

      @@abiogful How do you like FilmConvert vs Dehancer?

    • @abiogful
      @abiogful  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisnguyendop I feel like Dehancer allows for more creativity, and I like their selection of film stocks a lot more. HOWEVER exporting with Dehancer takes forever (e.g. one time when experimenting with FilmConvert and Dehancer, my FilmConvert export only took one or two hours, but my Dehancer export took about 10).

    All of these look quite stable. Did you handheld shoot, use gimble, or stabilize during post production?

    • @abiogful
      @abiogful  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is all handheld - I stabilized only a handful of shots (some of the walking shots at Capilano Suspension Bridge, and maybe a couple more)

  • @chrisnguyendop
    @chrisnguyendop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious what your setup was like for this travelogue?

    • @abiogful
      @abiogful  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Completely handheld - have a cage with a grip on my Sigma FP!
