- The process of an ant emerging from its cocoon, known as eclosing, is truly amazing, and this week I was able to film it occurring in a starting carpenter ant colony. Hope you enjoy this week's episode! Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution.

So what should we name this colony of Queen #1?
Name them the dark legion OH GREAT ANTSCANADA GOD
🐜🐜🐜🐜
The colony should be named “The Lumberjacks”. The queen should be named “Carpenter Empress” (inspired by Ember Empress). Ant love forever!!!🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜
Hmmm, you should name them "The Lumberjacks", I know I suck at making names, but I think it sounds cool!

I love how the queen ant keeps lovingly licking her baby. It's SOOO CUTE!
I thought it was eati......... Nevermind

6:54 She was fed up. She was like "Ive been at this for almost an hour! GET OUT!" 🤣🤣🤣
It’s so cool watching a queen ant and her very first daughter work so closely together to help the newest adult ant emerge to join them. And how the young ant asked her mom for ant milk was so intimate and sweet. It was endearing how the queen ant kept gently touching her daughter’s face as she fed.
Keep up the great work Mikey, I love all your videos! Ant love forever ❤️
Why did I start thinking
“Okay guys, today, I’m gonna be unboxing my sister!”
"Ugh, mom, can you help? Ooh.. look at how shiny and pretty she is! Let's get her out I want to explore with her!"
"Oh no, she's broken! Mom, can we get another one?"
Ha! Ha!

Newborn mammals are also covered in a membrane and basically, all species except humans lick/eat this layer off to clean and stimulate the newborn. Like mammals, it may give off a scent that is also attractive to predators (like flies) so that is why they hurry to clean their new baby off so it doesn't attract TOO much attention (only enough to entice workers to help it exit its casing!) What do you think?
not me imagining a person doing that and the doctor going “wtf”

"all species except humans lick/eat this layer off"
Some cultures very much still do this, and now there are people in western cultures that dry and grind up the placenta to put in capsules.
@@hummanbean4898 Eating the placenta is pretty common in a lot of cultures, actually. It's packed full of nutrients that are vital for new/nursing mothers. It's not very common in the west but there has been a resurgence of mothers in western nations who are either consuming it by drying it and turning it into pills.
Queen: already has 3 ants
One of the other queens: COME ON YOU LAZY HEADS! JUST HATCH ALREADY WE'RE FALLING BEHIND

Bringing light to something 98.8% of us would have never seen without you in our lives! They are just like every other mother in the world. Who would have thought?! Thank you, for your amazing work!
I hope everyone realizes what you are accomplishing here. You are capturing, recording and sharing things that have never been seen in this way before!!!!! Truly remarkable!!!! I thank you for you're passion and willingness to share this with us all!!!!
11:19 ahh love that f1 podium ceremony song
I think your videos serve to make us more compassionate. To allow us a glimpse at a world we find alien, and sparking our empathy to such miniscule organisms is a noble thing.
It's really so interesting how the "cleaning" might act as a stimulation for the newly hatched one to start moving! I was thinking about how a dog and cat mama licks their puppies and kittens bottoms to stimulate them to go to the bathroom. We can see in the video, the ant inside the cacoon didn't start moving until their sister licked them for the first time and they started moving even more as the queen and the worker ant kept licking even outside the cacoon! Like a signal "hey, we've been dangling you around but now its time to wake up!". Also, it's something the worker ant and the queen do due to instinct to keep them clean and out of any dangerous bacteria since the new ant can't move for a bit but woah.
i like how u care for ants even they are so small, u have big heart for them

Just got my first ant after years of wanting one, and watching this channel. I’ve been watching since I was probably around 7 or so. Can’t wait to see Queen Bruce Jorge the Third (there’s a long explanation…) grow, now that she’s already gotten her first few workers (first few second generation ants are starting to become larvae!) who are already exploring into my test tube portal and discovered the sugar water :)
This series just keeps getting better and better! I'm repeating myself, but what amazing and beautiful footage you've captured! No doubt you are making history and putting forth new scientific information. It's all so special! Congrats, Mikey!! ❤ #antloveforever
They say things happen for a reason and u 2 moving to Sonias Garden has given us all a chance to see things about ANTs that I don't think we would have ever seen. Thank u for the fantastic vids have enjoyed them alot.
Gosh, I just found out ants ask their mom for milk... its the most adorable thing I've seen so far. Thank you antscanada!
Ahhhhhhh this is GOLD! Thank you!!! MIKEY err Ants Canada front row seat on Nature unfolding to us antlovers😍
The music you put on for the pulling and swinging part lol. What a cute dance 😆
I found a fire and queen and the colony already has 20 workers ! thank you for inspiring me .
I used to hate ants but because of you I love ants and ant games thanks for the ant courage
Mom and big sis are excited to have more help around the house, baby sis is just forcing herself to not move and sleep as long as possible LoL
OMG! MIKEY BUSTOS IS ANTSCANADA!? IM NOT BELIEVING THIS
"Oh! There's the gunk!"
Best line ever-
Great choice of music and fabulous footage!
5:00 the ant probably recognized the queen as her mother since the queen had cared for her as a larva.
I just got the first workers of a queen ant too. I had two queens, one didn't lay eggs, but she's still alive and the nuptial flight was in July, so she either didn't mate or is waiting until spring.
this is too adorable for being about a freaking ANT
When I first found this channel I watched the one that had to do with rhino beetles and letting them go then I watched more vids and liked them now I'm watching this channel again
I know what that ant was thinking:
“damn, I’m stuck”
The pull and swin was very funny😂😂🤣🤣
your videos have a special way of making complex topics fun!
Glad you like them!
Ant trying many times to break the cocoon, but ant teared the human skins within seconds
the cocoon is tougher im pretty sure
@New dutch republic thanks for saying
Its so satisfying watching 1 ant going to around 50000 ants
Why is watching insects working as a family so cute?
WOW... trully amazing and beyond my imagination. Can't wait for the next video. Keep it up
At 3:53 it looks like one of the pupae in the cocoon legs moved. Not the one they’re opening but the one behind the worker
The cycle of ants is just so unique ya know? Even though some of the colonies didn’t make it very far, it’s still just amazing to see how it all unfolds from just a queen, to hundreds of ants!!!
I Love watching these awesome ant Videos
I think the ant was thinking "God, I wish these ants would quit tossing me all over the place.... I'm gonna puke" 🤣
I think that by licking it, the new ant is not only cleaned, but the smell of the colony is also transmitted to it
Please make this a series ty
I think the ant was probably just really excited to meet the queen, it is it’s entire purpose to serve the queen anyway.
I have 3 words:
Ant Love Forever
The emerging was so cute and heart warming
Omg, this ant channel is amazing
The more videos of ants I watch... the more I wanna become one
Wow, the magic of the Mother Nature. They're very cute at this job and actually i have two queens from the Camponotus sp. Irritans. One queen began to lay three eggs, but the other queen, suddently don't laying one egg or two. Sadly this 2nd queen ant will maybe unmated.
Legend says that the queen is still looking for that gunk
The cocooned ants were probably thinking 5 more minutes.
Cant wait for the next video
I have been following your channel even before the death of the fire nation 😞
IDK WHY THIS IS SO FUNNY- ' ' *Pull and swing, pull and swing* ' ' HAHA
I just have a mental image of him not blinking
This Fresh music in backrounds make me fealing dinner is ready 😂

"Hey there, bud! Welcome to the world! Alright, get to work."
The ant was thinking what is for dinner
This is awesome ty for showinh us all this
I bet the ant was thinking, Who the hell keeps shaking my bed!
It almost looks like the queen and the first worker ant are fighting over the cocoon since the queen literally moves the cocoon from side to side with the worker on it xD
poor ant he be like ''someone help who are these people and why are they swinging me so roughly
My mom and dad trying to get me out of bed:
Fanfrikintastic all my years as a kid messing with ants that's the first time I ever saw one borne, Bloody marvellous.
"OHH THERE'S THE GUNK!" LMFAO
That's nuts how tough that cocoon is. You DEFINATELY made ants interesting to me.
Beautiful

Guys! I caught 2 queens without wings! I also caught 4 queens with wings! Should i keep them all? Or should I let go the queens with the wings?
name the first ant young pioneer as she is a pioneer in helping the colony giving the queen some rest
I other creatures cleaning a newborn isn't just for cleaning, it also gets the blood flowing.
I would imagine that would be even more important for new ants because they don't move as much as an unborn mammal.
antscanada your video's are so cool and also idk if the new ant in the larva is scared or excited
Ant love forever!
It's an awesome opportunity to witness this, ant are an interesting little creature (insect) cant wait to see those queen that survive and see how they turn out with their kingdom
15:18 exactly it makes me feel like im a god this is why i wanted to start my ant colony
Wow!!!!Amazing!!!😊😊😊
