While the other kids were reading DC and Marvel superheroes, I was too busy reading this and Eerie, along with Heavy Metal magazine. Horror is my favorite comic genre, and it always makes me raise an eyebrow when I hear people say that comics are only superheroes and nothing else. I still buy and read Independent horror comics to this very day.

Here in the US aside from Heavy Metal Magazine, Creepy, EERIE, and Vampirella were the only magazines one could see the work of great Spanish illustrators/comic book artists; Victor Del Fuente, Jose Gonzales, Esteban Maroto, Sanjulián Luis Garcia, Fernando Fernandez, Enrich and others. Thank you for uploading this video.

Yeah, I was hoping a nod to the spanish edition of the magazine by Toutain and its authors, whose work made the jump to the US thanks to this and sister magazines like 1984

Excellent job. Picked up every issue I could when I was a kid. Got familiar with Frank Frazetta, Roy krenkle, wally wood, Richard Corben, Alex Toth, Bernie Wrightson and so many more. Like Mike Kaluta. Just an awesome, awesome inspiring magazine like no other 😂❤

Creepy and Eerie were the first mags that I collected seriously! I used to love reading two stories in bed, like a Horror Double Bill you'd get on TV during the summer.

I remember the two companion mags and then another less popular one called simply 'Monster'.
What makes me obsessed with both Creepy and Eerie is that one of them featured recurring creature character goat-like demons that just tore their victims limb from limb -- it was my first exposure to just graphic sadistic EVIL I'd ever seen.
And I wish I knew what story these goat demons were from that was some of the best drawn storytelling I've ever seen.

Now I've watched it, superb video! it really took me back. If you'd had more space you might have mentioned Reed Crandall, Steve Ditko, Sanjulian, To Sutton and many other artists, who put some of their best work into Creepy and Eerie!

I would really need to make a video twice or three times as long to mention all the great artists who contributed to these magazines. Thank you very much for watching the video and commenting

I remember the two companion mags.
What preoccupies me with both Creepy and Eerie magazines is that one of them featured a recurring story that had these goat-like humanoid demons that just tore their victims limb from limb -- it was my first exposure to just graphic sadistic violence from obvious demons that I'd ever seen and I wish I knew what story or issue(s) these violent "goat demons" were in; that was some of the best-drawn storytelling I've ever seen.

Very nice retrospective synopsis of two classic horror magazines! Would you consider doing one on 1984 ; later, renamed 1994, please ? It had artwork by Woods; Corben; and lots of others !
