Jelly Roll also did time in prison for cocaine.
But Jelly Roll can tap his ass off and sing. His voice is amazing! He does all of his hooks. A year ago, he messed around and put out a non rap, acoustic song called "Save Me" Last time I checked the video has 95 million views. His lyrics hit home with so many of us. He raps about his struggles with addiction, alcohol, drugs, food. He struggled with his weight throughout his life. For a white boy Jelly Roll got soul! Lol

To this day Struggle Jennings still has the second largest cocaine bust in Tennessee history. Supposedly he was connected to cartels. He never ratted and did it his time. While in prison Struggle convinced the warden to let a documentary crew inside to film rappers and people who were trying to turn their lives around. The correctional officers trusted Struggle and they left him and the documentary crew be alone for a little while and when they did, Struggle filmed a video for his song "Black Curtains"
When the video came out and the media caught wind of it, the mayor was pissed! It was all over the news. They threatened to add charges and time to his sentence, but they couldn't. To this day Struggle Jennings is the only person to ever film a music video while locked up in prison.
Struggle Jennings Got his name from his grandfather Waylon Jennings. Waylon Jennings was a big country singer back in the 70s and they are coined the term "Country Outlaw" because of him in a bunch of other guys. They were bad asses!

I lost alot last year my dad then 5 days later my cousin she was like a sister she was a twin we grew up together like triplets then 11 days later my husband of 23 Years suddenly passed away. So I spend most days feeling like my heart has been run through the cheese grater. That song helps me smile again.
