    Story goes breaking bad was looking for a tequila for this product placement, but when they said it would be poisoned, no company wanted to use their tequila. So they came up with their own fictional tequila and called it zaffiro añejo

    Eladio scenes are always great. Tension comes naturally from how he acts charismatic and friendly but he could have anyone killed so brutally for even the slightest reason. Mexican cartel bosses are so terrifying when played like that.

      Fiction never falls that far from reality.
      I'm Mexican. I can bet some cartels leaders are joyful, smart, funny, like every other human. There's plenty of stories and corridos songs with their tales of kindness.
      Yet they are as violent, bloody and ruthless as they are pictured in TV.

    I love how Eladio acts cheerful and friendly but he actually thinks Gus is probably bullshitting him after he says 'A gesture of respect to celebrate our renewed friendship'. He answers by the same sarcastic 'Uuuuuhhhh' with which he replied to Gus' proposition that meth would be the drug of the future 20 years earlier. He's actually very much like Lalo. He's always friendly and impulsive but his mind is always cool and calculating. He doesn't believe the gift is safe until his henchman reassures him and until Gus takes a shot himself too.

    I’d like to think Ken, a few years later, saw the Better Call Saul commercials and put together what happened to him lol

    Its just crazy that Gustavo was planning his revenge way back in Better Call Saul and he finally executed his plan in Breaking Bad, so what like 5, 6 years?

    This guys car was really nice, really hope it lives a long and fulfilling life. I am so glad he got a 99% discount on his cheque, no wonder he was asking if it was correct.

    I remember when they had Zafiro Anejo in Better Call Saul and I had a nerdgasm basically I was like oh HELL yeah! That's the same kind of tequila that Gus gave to Don Eladio when he took out the entire cartel in one day armed only with his brain basically.

      Perhaps he has other houses, and this house with the pool is just a common place for cartel meetings

      What's wrong with only living in the same house lol? If I was a billionare I would invest most of my spending money into refurbishing one home property.

    Who would have thought that "Manolo" from "Scarface" was not only still alive and kicking, but - HEY! - he's like wine! - IMPROVES WITH TIME! :) Steven Bauer! Great performance, man! ...and what a career! He's a living Museum of Cinema at its finest - and with a SMILE THAT IS CONTAGIOUS! :) :)
    PS. All the Best to you, Steven and have a nice day everybody! ;) :)

    I like the call back to Breaking Bad, but they really devalued the special nature of Zafirro Añejo. Don Eladio made it seem like it was some super rare, hard to get, extremely expensive tequila. Then in BCS, some bar has it and Jimmy waltzes into the office with a full bottle. I dunno.

    I’ve had drinks/shots with people from many cultures, but never seen anyone put their empty shot glass over their Adam’s apple before; one guy in the background of the pool scene does.

    • @patwaters3486
      @patwaters3486 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the extra was just holding the shot glass in that location after he swallowed the shot. I don't think it had any meaning.

    That's the clearest añejo I've seen. Unless it's a cristalino, but it would be branded as such.
