yoh yoh yoh yoh yooooohhhh!!! 0:49 BOOOOOOOO! LOL! Yoh! Never was there a perfect time. Step down man, people will remember you for doing one right thing...
Yes Frans! I couldn't agree with you more! We need leaders that give to our people like Mandela did. Not take as Zuma did. He brought this over himself. Like they say; the wheel turns!
Percy Joyisa Yes Percy, you are right. It's not the place to do it. I wish there was another opportunity for it to happen, or maybe not! Why should we have to boo anyone? You are right, in the eyes of the world we acted in a tasteless manner. We should act in a different way, and that is just the thing ACT!!! Let our actions speak, there is the right way to act and that is with the cross we draw on the ballet paper.
Percy Joyisa At the memorial heads of state were taking Selfie pics and doing their media PR. Yes it might make us look stupid but I feel that the people have had enough of ZUMA. We love and respect Mandela, he will forever be in our hearts. As foolish as it might seem, booing him on that international platform will achieve what months of investigations and close-door discussions can never do, put real pressure on the ANC to reform or die.
I think it was the perfect time to boo Zuma. This was a memorial for Madiba who in his own words said if the ANC does to the people of SA what the Apartheid govt did, then the people of SA must do to the ANC what they did to the Apartheid govt. The ANC is not so bad yet, but they are on that path...what better way to pay homage to the great man Madiba than to use the voice that he gave us to express dissatisfaction with that clown JZ? I don't think it made us look bad, I think it made us look strong...a people who are not too scared to boo their president. That is freedom, that is democracy, that is everything Tata fought for!
It says a lot when F.W. de Klerk gets cheers and Zuma is booed. I'm so glad to see South Africans realising that Zuma and the future of the ANC (unless they change their leadership, such as if they put Cyril in charge, which will never happen) isn't what the future of South Africa should hold. The ANC was fantastic while Mandela was there, was okay with Mbeki, but sucks with Zuma. He deserved to be publically humiliated in front of the entire world. And I don't think that Mandela would've minded. I don't think it was disrespectful to him. He fought for our right to express our opinion about the government and that is exactly what the people were doing. If anything, he would probably have been pleased that even after death he provided a way for the citizens of South Africa to attempt to move forward to a greater country. Also, when the guy says "Viva Mandela", is it just me or does he look super unenthusiastic? :P
It is a sad day when a South African president is treated with such contempt in front of so many leaders and dignatories. In fact the entire world was witness to how ordanary South Africans feel about Mr. Zuma and his leadership not to mention his many other shortcomings. Is this the end of the road for Mr. Zuma and his ANC supporters??
haape mbhele sign language is basically the same for all languages. There are different sign languages but signs mean concepts they dont really spell out words in a specific spoken language.
Nah it's not the same thing, ANC it's a political party and Zuma is an individual, those two are way too different. And he is not bigger than the party.
I feel for him Archie, but he really brought this down on himself. We need to look for leaders with the same values than Madiba. I don't think we will see another leader like Madiba, but we can strive for one!
For a man who has done nothing but take a giant dump on Nelson Mandela's dream and the dreams of millions of South Africans, how dare he take the stage at Mandela's memorial.
We know about South Africa in the rest of the world. It is fascinating. I love your comedians like Trevor Noah, your bloody history, and know all about your perfect climate. But crime and all the other problems aside, what makes a country of your stature look silly is who gets elected. -Canada
Exactly. Boo all you want but, at the end of the day, that very massive crowd ELECTED him for a SECOND term after he had already proven himself to be a complete degenerate moron. So rather than sully a solemn memorial with crassness... why not just vote for another leader next time.
The people who organised the memorial let Madiba down. The entire thing was about show and international recognition, it was for the ANC. It wasn't for Madiba. Half of the people who spoke weren't even in power when Madiba was around. If the memorial was truly for Madiba, it would've been about him, not the ANC and appearances. If it was about him, they would've got people who actually knew him to speak. Tutu was a great example. Where was Zelda? Where were his friends? These global leaders, some of them had never even met him!
i just think Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and Former President Thabo Mbeki should start their own party, recruit Mama Winnie Mandela and all the other great dignitaries. trust me they would make a mean team and most definitely lead South Africa to economic freedom. Dankie South Africans that Jacob Zuma moment made me feel proudly South African for the very first time in a long time. it was high time we took a stand against our corrupt president and that moment was just perfect timing. RIP TATA South Africa loves you.
While I agree that Tata Nelson Mandela's memorial service was not the ideal platform to boo one's president, it is probably the most powerful opportunity South Africans had to voice their dissatisfaction with the powers that be and to highlight the contrast between Madiba's vision and SA's current path. All other efforts by civil society to redirect that path, through the proper channels (the Public Protector, various courts and government departments) have fallen on deaf ears. (No pun intended, re: the 'sign language' interpretive dancer.)
***** I'm not talking about Botha, FW did not release Madiba out of the goodness of his heart, the country was about to be engulfed in turmoil if he didn't release Mandela. Just read the articles on FW and his quotes he wasn't allowed to speak at Universities in the States for a reason.
BigBoss As someone said above, many world leaders would rather (and have rather) see their country go down in flames and descend into civil war than give up their leadership. F.W. didn't. And besides, does it matter WHY he did it? Not really. The fact is that he did do it, when all the leaders before him wouldn't have. Who cares what his motives were? If he had bad motives, I'd still rather he had bad motives and have done what he did than have done nothing at all and let civil war break out. We are grateful for him doing what he did and his reasoning doesn't matter much, seeing as the outcome was so life-changing and fantastic. If he did have bad motives (which I don't think he did), would you honestly rather have waited until there was a white president who would do it for "good motives"? How many more years would that have taken?
lilo21986 ofcoz he dud the right thing. I’m just gona say this. FW lives in a white area and has many black and colored servants to this day. He said he prefers it this way, and this is the racist man you are protecting.
BigBoss No one is "protecting" him. No one is saying they approve of whatever he does now. But people were cheering him because without him, apartheid wouldn't have ended when it did. You recognise that. So you recognise why people cheered him. An entire crowd cheered the man - you're clearly not up to date with public opinion.
i couldn't believe when the news came up saying that the guy there interpreting in sign language, didn't really know what he was interpreting and apparently he's uneducated.
he only made those decisions because SA was on the brink of civil war and chaos, he didnt do it out of the good of his heart, so yes good decisions but not such a noble motive as we thought
HyperEndymion There are many leaders in the world's history and today that would not have made such decisions and rather have let war engulf the nation to stay in power. I say we count our blessings that De Klerk made the right decision when it mattered most for the future; this itself being much more than can be said of Zuma.
Our dear South Africans... The lesson of not touching a hot plate doesn't seem to get through to us... Our people voted for Mr. J. Zuma... Just to boo him. Good luck on our next election.
Lol at the fake sign language guy, probably got put in that position due to the policy of BEE, makes me even more embarrassed to be a part of this nation.
Haters are people too and they too have the right to an opinion. Mandela lives on in us and his legacy will never die. Figurative speaking dude.. figurative speaking.
Lubabalo Manzi Mandela was about LOVE not HATE! that is why they could have some self control and selflessness for but a brief period and keep their hateful opinion to themselves. Zuma is nothing like Nelson Mandela but neither are the people in the crowd!
Don't misunderstand; I'm not hating at all. I find it odd that people are saying "Viva Nelson Mandela" which literally translates to "Long live Nelson Mandela" when he's already dead. It's ironic to say the least.
At the end of the day, whether we like him or not , Jacob Zuma is still the president of our country and as the president, he does deserve SOME ounce of respect from the people of this country. I am not condoning his actions or his behaviour but that doesn't give people the right to embarrass and belittle him on a GLOBAL scale as the did just to prove a point. Where is the respect South Africa?
Fine to say if you can state at all why with reason? Understood that being in power is not easy and that he is human, but can anyone with access to multiple sources of information as we find ourselves blessed to be honestly say that Zuma has not done much more harm than good and effectually shames the country as a whole with his selfish actions? Time and time again, this man shows how little he cares for South Africa, and yet we allow him to lead. Indeed perhaps we are all fools, but now is the time to change that. Mandela's final gift to us is hopefully to once more inspire change as we see how little has been achieved since his death. The opportunities he helped create for the nation have been ignored by the ANC leaders and instead they have simple enjoyed cushioned lives while the country stagnates. This video might just be record of our first step in the right direction as a nation; a moment which we take to infront of the world say "BOO" to those who have robbed South Africa of the bright future Mandela envisioned. To hell with being polite for the politicians, I choose now to say "BOO" Zuma, "BOO" ANC, Viva Mandela's Dream, Viva South Africa!
We've had a taste of Ramaphosa and now we are wiser. How do the howlers feel now? Akusilima sindlebende kwabo. We've got JZ's back in KZN. VIVA uMkhonto VIVA
Mandela fought for a free and democratic SA. As much as many ppl do not like the Zuma for whatever reason the sad part is he remains a democratically elected president of the Republic. His party re-elected him last year for a second term and chances are his party is going to win the general elections next year and he is going to stay president of the Republic again for the next 5 years. So this is a democracy that was fought for so accept it even if it doesn't suit you. So grow up and get a life
Madiba's death just reminded up what caliber of a leader South Africa needs. Zuma is a disgrace to all that Tata sacrificed his life for... @ntate_khambule
As much a Zuma deserved to be booed there is a tym and place to boo people it was very disrespectful to boo the president at Nelson Mandela memorial service. I can't stop laughing at the sign language guy. Corruption is so bad in South Africa, so much so, they could not put their corruption aside to hire a valid sign language expert. Even hiring this simple role for an epic day, they could not do. So sad!
I’m not proud to be South African in any manner now...yes the man did deserved it but honestly that wasn’t the time for it, we have visitors we lying to rest our greatest leader and that’s how we show him respect seriously...I thought I’m proud cause we have passion and pride but the way we carried on there and through this year it’s no wonder our economy even isn’t doing so well cause we behave like hooligans so we would get what hooligans deserve nothing but S***...example has the manner in which we strike ever brought us anything good ..and do not say increase coz not even long then prices go up......#shamefulsouthafrica
Never mind the BOOING - did anyone notice that FW DeKlek was chewing gum! Come on - he is a dignitary at the memorial service of one of the greatest men that have ever graced this world and he is busy chewing gum ! talk about disregard !
the guy with hand gestures next to Cyril😳😂
yoh yoh yoh yoh yooooohhhh!!! 0:49 BOOOOOOOO! LOL! Yoh! Never was there a perfect time. Step down man, people will remember you for doing one right thing...

hardly surprising is it?

Mandela was not alone on the struggle
I'm so glad, today it's clear those who were booing and you were fools. 😂

Is this the end of the road for Mr. Zuma and his ANC supporters??
Mbeki and De Klerk to preside over SA.......That's my thought process
That gave me for the first time in a long time faith in the future of South Africa.
Yeah how did you feel then when they cheered Mugabe?
makamillion86 Happy for a second...
So touching to see the crowd's reaction when former president De Klerk is mentioned.
Apparently that is a fake sign language guy too lol.
yea i saw that it the papers today lol but i dont know how far true it is......very funny
he's the reason i came here
some people be saying he was doing sign language in a south african language loooool dont know how true that is.
haape mbhele sign language is basically the same for all languages. There are different sign languages but signs mean concepts they dont really spell out words in a specific spoken language.
Good to see the people letting the world know what they think of him, now let him know at the next election.
de clerck cheers zuma boo´s

BOOOOOOOO!!!! BOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Frans Tshwaane
BOOO! ZUMA, BOO!
Lol the crowd just roared when he mentioned President Thabo Mbeki
He's probably going to buy something expensive with state money because of this..
The country has indeed spoken :)
Democracy in action...
Indeed... the people have spoken
those same people who booed him will be voting for him in a few days. how stupid
No, people are voting for ANC not Zuma, don't get it twisted.
Mxolisi Mdingi same thing. same idiots, all of them.
Nah it's not the same thing, ANC it's a political party and Zuma is an individual, those two are way too different. And he is not bigger than the party.
Mxolisi Mdingi as I said they are all the same zuma, ANC same thing. The same ideologies. Same desire to steal and destroy human rights
Our national treasure the translator bathong
Somewhere in heaven Madiba is having a good chuckle.
lol the sign language dude.... wtf.
It's time for change in South Africa. VOTE in 2014
You fucked our country.
@@SeshvirSeodutt and how did I do that?
show that you are pissed off by your vote not by booing
Elections are too far BOOOOO!!!!!
Mandela used the ANC as a platform to GIVE to the people; Zuma uses the ANC as a platform to TAKE from the people.
He felt it alright... hahaha!!! Now we will let the 2014 elections speak...
I feel for him Archie, but he really brought this down on himself. We need to look for leaders with the same values than Madiba. I don't think we will see another leader like Madiba, but we can strive for one!

This is what happens when the nation is not alert
Was that interpretor gesturing the right things for this one?
Boooooma
yoh when people even Cheer De Klerk and boo you
So who will all those people who booed be voting for next year?
ANC needs to break up to give SA a chance at real democracy.
Looks like they need an Obama there!
lol all I did here was watch the sign language guy hahahahahaahahahaha
inappropriate
they love him so much they call him boo
Time for JZ to step down
I was there. The ENTIRE Memorial was a joke!
We let Madiba down in front of a Global Audience. Such a shame...
The people who organised the memorial let Madiba down. The entire thing was about show and international recognition, it was for the ANC. It wasn't for Madiba. The boooing does'nt make any difference except the embarrasment to the world. Use your vote next year to voice out the anger...
The sign language guy talks shit with such a serious face
Yep, it was madness.
i just think Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and Former President Thabo Mbeki should start their own party, recruit Mama Winnie Mandela and all the other great dignitaries. trust me they would make a mean team and most definitely lead South Africa to economic freedom. they will fail! ANC is bigger than individuals.
Lol 😂 to think that the sign language translator was a fraud is unbelievable
Holy smokes, they even cheered FW de Klerk
Catz Koen Psssst, .....waffles.
I dunno, it's late. Sleep is for the weak zzzzzZZzzz
Why boo Zuma and cheer up FW DE Klerk black ppl mind is so brainwashed shame it's so sad to witness this 😞
Hate him or love him, he's going nowhere, and that's a FACT!
Lol that gibberish sign interpreter guy, hey this was a worse blunder l😅🤣😂😁
The man here who was moving his arms was PRETENDING to be an interpreter. He was not signing at all. It is not respectful to Deaf South Africans.
i keep looking at the interpreter, knowing all that was fake
It must have been an embarrassing situation for Obama. To be cheered in a country which booes it's own leader.
There is a time and place for certain things . This is an utter disgrace how embarrasing
That look on his face after he got booed is priceless. Someone looks like a worried man all of a sudden hahaha
I only pray this sentiment comes across in the elections....
Amen to that...
lol guys the booo start when he said the name of Motlanthe
Wena you are lost...
kwakubi kodwa😭😭😭😂😂😂
When De Klerk gets more yays than Zuma
Jaainkies !!!! 😀
I could'nt help but laugh. Look at Ramaphosa!
time stamp...
I don't understand the sign lang interpreter... If I were deaf, I'd be really confused. I'm in disbelief :O
Black brothers and sisters one day you all gonna regret ,the truth will come out. let's all understand our history before we judge.

That sign interpreter is a goon
People plz don't vote for this guy again
Rest in peace Tata

I didn't hear the boo Zuma. The only boos I heard were for Mbeki in this footage.
You seem to need to have your hearing checked!!!!
@ Antonio. The boos you heard were for the images of Zuma displayed on the big screen. Every time his image came up they booed.
Zuma deserved each and every single booing but on the other it was not fair to our freedom fighter Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

I can't stop laughing at the sign language guy. Corruption is so bad in South Africa, so much so, they could not put their corruption aside to hire a valid sign language expert. Even hiring this simple role for an epic day, they could not do. So sad!
lmao wish I was there
I’m not proud to be South African in any manner now...yes the man did deserved it but honestly that wasn’t the time for it, we have visitors we lying to rest our greatest leader and that’s how we show him respect seriously...I thought I’m proud cause we have passion and pride but the way we carried on there and through this year it’s no wonder our economy even isn’t doing so well cause we behave like hooligans so we would get what hooligans deserve nothing but S***...example has the manner in which we strike ever brought us anything good ..and do not say increase coz not even long then prices go up......#shamefulsouthafrica
