These lyrics hit me right in my soul. Anyone who fought through addiction, depression, etc can understand how you would never want to hurt the people around you but it does. And that’s a hard reality to face. I’m so thankful for the friends who have stuck by me

I just lost my Mom back in October! She was there for me every single day for 34yrs! Her passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving me shattered! 😢💔💔😭 im struggling with my depression since, but @Illenium your music keeps my head held high and keeps me inspired daily to keep strong and carry on, for my momma!

This song hits so hard because I know he fought hard to stay. This album; I feel like it was written for him. Although it was sad that he wasn't alive to attend the Fallen Embers tour with us, I know he was there in spirit having the best time of his life. Thank you. Your music is everything. ♡

Lost my childhood best friend to a car accident during our senior year of high school almost 10 years ago. He was just overcoming his battle with depression - We hung out the night before the accident, and it was the happiest I’ve ever seen him. Couldn’t help but think of him when I heard this song. No one got me like he did. We had the same likes, passions, everything. I do everything I can not to think about it… but I Love this song. Miss you man.

I've been listening to this song nonstop since it released. It makes think of my grandma that died almost 7 years ago. We were really close, and I still can't believe she's gone. I was only a little kid when she went brain dead in the hospital. I had to watch them turn off her life support. I couldn't stay for the whole thing because it was to emotional. This song brought all those emotions rushing back, along with a bunch of good memories. Thank you illenium for making beautiful music.

Man, can't believe it's already been 3 years
Although it's the closing track on the new Fallen Embers album, it's been the first I've heard and really been able to listen to of all the 14 tracks, so far. I'll say this, it's been a long minute since being so excited about listening to an album in it's entirety all by myself and reviewing it.
I know I'm just some internet nobody but I've been listening to the music for longer than some of the latest and greatest have been alive. Sure it makes me feel old at times but others it makes me appreciate the wisdom experience brings. I invested into the best sound system I could afford and justify for my ride and then bought the greatest pair of headphones to follow. When I can really listen to the music, appreciate the finite details few may recognize, and take the moments necessary to really take it all in, I'm able to provide a window into my experience as a listener, that I've no doubt a whole helluvalot of people could relate to. This Friday I've given myself 8 hours minimum of just me time to fully dive into this and experience it as I imagine it was intended. It's all subjective for sure but I'm seriously looking forward to it. Worlds an upside-down cluster fuck right now. Finding solid ways to process emotion and even escape for a bit, are necessity for me. It's a fundamental part of my survival. Stay tuned I guess lol.

The loss that I've experienced over the past few years within myself and from others has been difficult. This song really let me release all that tension that has been building up over the years from those experiences and in a way, helped me heal.
