Can confirm that this is a very common issue for the S550 Mustangs. Exact same issue on my 2016 as well. All the heated/cool seat buttons would illuminate but nothing changes on either seats. pulled that plug out from the passenger seat and found the ground wire pin is burnt. And yes this method definitely beats getting a new harness and splicing 15 different wires.

How do you disconnect the plug from the module?

If you can’t take the plug off of the module and your seats don’t work, the plug is most likely bonded to the module pin connector from it melting. You will have to muscle it off like I had too :/

Didn’t know you could drill through those connectors and and just add a disconnect. Cool. Seemed like a very tight spot to work with.

amazon sells this replacement pig tail for like 12 bucks,,,,if you do this you need to bring out the circuit board to scrape off the melted plastic that is on the pin connector,,,,simple job,,,,

This is the connector on Amazon if you need to buy a new one if drilling fails : www.amazon.com/dp/B0031H2FES?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&fbclid=IwAR0c-uEYVcuq3mr-G14KtSqrQmu3tAR6uDlMc2gA1WxV6NEEYWTQjg-jnYQ

Wonder if it would be the same on my 2015 F150. Any ideas if the ford part numbers the same?

Is this just for the passenger side heated seat ,or is there another unit on the other side ,that's exactly the same to this ,but for the drivers side?

the passenger seat is the one that has the module under it that controls both.

The problem still remains tho? You still have all the power going through the 1 terminal. Ford did this fix on my car in 2019 and by 2020 the problem returned. Ford have released a few new modules that have changed the wiring from 1 to actually 2 wires and it seems to have fixed the problem but its not cheap sadly. Seems like the most reasonable fix is to just rewire the terminal once every year or so sadly. Thanks ford...
