Excellent review! Sometimes I like casual reading of the bible just for enjoyment. A bible without too many study notes and easy to read print would be perfect. When I was in high school I would read the old testament just to pass the time. I miss doing that and maybe I should start again.
Love the reverend Lovejoy figurine you have in the background lol it really made me smile! Thanks for the very helpful review I have this bible in third edition and am really enjoying it 🙏
Great review i just ordered an NLT 3rd edition and was looking at reviews and found your channel. I received a black belt in Isshinryu as a child 4 to 10th grade. After that went on to TKD in my 20's Earned 2nd degree black belt. After that started Shotokan wich was my favorite. Recieved black belt competed on national level then started teachung here in my hometown
My wife inherited her mother's bible, though I just now realized it is the life application study bible. We would use it to read what she was thinking about various verses when we did our studies. Now that i know it's a study bible, endorsed by the disciple dojo, i will use it alongside my other study bibles, both are student study bibles, ESV and NIV. This will become an important part of our library, even if it's KJV. Thanks for all you do in helping me grow in my knowledge and hopefully my wisdom.
I got a second edition burgundy real leather for $20. It helps me when I’m done reading 3 commentaries on a portion of scripture get back to the practical every day is use scripture
It would be interesting to hear you talk not just about study bibles, but also different translations such as God's Word, NKJV, and the Amplified Bible.
Wow ! ! ! As good as usual. Thank you for giving me the information I had been looking for for many years. This is the Bible I will purchase. Erli Bittencourt
could you compare this w the NASB study bible and the ESV study Bible? for someone that has a strong Bible understanding but does not own a study Bible (own NASB1995 and Good News Translation)? and yes NASB is wooden, but is more helpful for word studies.
Can you do a review focusing on the new NLT Study Life Application Filament study bible? Whether the notes and intros are very demographically focused on young adult students or whether it would be good for an older new christian as well (compared to full life application 3rd edition)? Thank you! 😊
@@hw888 that's how the NLT does its translation footnotes. At the bottom of the text (above the study notes) you should see a note for each of those verses with an alternate reading of the text. Most translations use italics letters or numbers, but the NLT uses asterisks, which means "look at the footnote on this verse below."
Is this a bible that you would recommend to someone who is trying to become a Christian man? I'm currently married with kids and I'm looking for a bible that helps me to become what my family needs as head of household. I was debating between this bible you reviewed here and the CSB He Reads Truth Bible.
I hold loving Matt Whitman from 10 min Bible hour as the standard of if a person is Christian or not. Not really but I can’t see a Christian not loving him no matter your theological position. Congrats you past my arbitrary test I’ve made
@ Lol, so if I like it, I’m dumb? 😂😂😂 Maybe a simplified version? I was specifically curious if the content and the “life application” part was the same or different. All I could tell from someone else’s review was the Student version added more color coding and graphics, which I like, but they did not indicate if the content was the same or different. I like color coding, infographics, etc. But I don’t want the dumb people version 😂
They are entirely different Bibles. The Life Application notes are pretty much the same, regardless of which translation you have a Life Application Bible in. The NLT Study Bible notes are done for the NLT Study Bible (and newer NLT Illustrated Bible as well as Filament Bibles).
@@DiscipleDojo Thank you. I was conflating the two as both NLT study bibles. I didn't catch that the Life Application came in different translations. Appreciate your patience with my many questions.

Sadly, once again, I’ve seen another review of this Bible without a single life application example given. I have been reading and studying the Bible for decades, that’s my background. So what exactly - exactly - will this Bible do for an application for my life or anyone else’s? It still just sounds like another study Bible. Disappointed.
Agreed. I’ve gifted this Bible many, many times.

Shotokan was my first style as a kid! I love it even though I'm a BJJ guy now! :) Glad the review was helpful!

Found a like new 2004 printing in European bonded leather for $17.29. Thanks to your reviews I added four more study Bibles to my collection.
Haha, awesome! Hope they serve you well!
great Bible! I have it in Arabic, the translation equivalent to NIV. love it!
Wow, I didn't know it came in that language! I don't know Arabic in the least, but I have always thought the letters are so visually beautiful.

Thoughts on notes for 1 Timothy 1:10

Is there a particular study bible you would recommend for an agnostic who has shown interest in reading the Bible to learn more about Christianity?
Any in my top 7 recommended list. Check out that video here on the channel.
I just bought this Bible. Will you please help me understand what are the asterisk symbols in some of the verses mean? Thanks.
Can you give a specific example?
@@DiscipleDojo thanks for quick reply. Such as Genesis 3:16, Genesis 5:25. These ⭐️ signs are placed at multiple verses throughout the book. Thanks.

I repair bibles. Zondervan could do better. The glue dries and peel away from spine and bible falls apart. Most of my business is from this bible.
@@TerryGarrett-qc9fj do you mean Zondervan does better than Tyndale? Or were you talking about the older Zondervan versions of Life App?
What I'm saying I would not buy this bible. It falls apart sooner it seems.
