It is easy to not like the successful who have achieved greatness. It is often ignorance of the truth and often hatred of self when measured.

I'm an atheist, but regardless, I adore Jerusalem and regard it as our de facto anthem in England. For our union as a whole, it's "God Save the King."

I always thought they should just change the word from England to Britain and use this song - same number of syllables and iambic pentameter

Jerusalem is a hymn. Many want it to be our National Anthem instead of "God Save the King".
It is not Scottish or Welsh, just English.
The feet spoken about are "Jesus".

@@strongladyd3542 It is likely that Jesus visited these sceptered isled on his voyage with his uncle before he returned to fulfill his destiny. He was absent for about 30 years in biblical history. I am not religous but think a man likely existed that had a vision. Dr. King had a vision so why not a man about 2000 years ago who had the wealth to travel widely and absorb the brilliance ofthe era, after all, he was the child of kings.

It is ‘unofficially’ the national anthem of England as opposed the God Save the King is the national anthem of the United Kingdom. This is in the same way as Flower of Scotland is sung by the Scottish rugby team before matches. It was used to represent England in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. It’s a beautiful song.

Its not the National Anthem that is God Save the King Many people would prefer this song to be the National Anthem This version is sung by Lesley Garrett have a listen to "I vow to thee my country" sung by Royal Marines Band

It is the unofficial anthem of England and is sung at cricket, rugby and at the commonwealth games.
