Great to see you back on....we all suffer drops in mojo especially when real life gets in the way.....but if I can make one recommendation....that's have a look at building and painting some set themed bolt action armies from the theatre selectors...I've done
    -Royal Artillery platoon
    -British armoured
    reconnaissance platoon
    - french partisan force
now planning german Last Levy and US armoured fist platoon. It's very addictive, and great for characterful scenarios.

Very interesting, I belonged to a small group of friends that regularly played Bolt Action on a 10ft square table for ages , but last year it began to fizzle for all the reasons you have mentioned. Si not wanting to give up, but my mojo was diminished, I started to look for inspiration elsewhere, I even placed an advert seeing if anyone was interested in starting a club in the local area, that fell on deaf ears, I then thought, if I cannot game , I will paint and I am now hooked on Black Powder, early days but coming together, so you are not alone, looking forward to the battle reports

Solo wargaming is very rewarding, you can create narratives and really explore scenarios or whole campaigns. I go to a club for social interaction and shared interest, but I do solo games and campaigns as well.

I always enjoy your relaxed, comfortable videos, seeing what you’re up to. Gaming and hobbies should be enjoyable…so it’s good to step back and take a break sometimes when they don’t feel that way. Take care, take it easy and I hope you get your work schedule gets to a level you’re comfortable with.

Thanks mate, as from next week my working hours are going down, so hopefully I can get back into things

Once your hobby starts feeling like you're job, it's understandable (and encouraged) to take a break. I wholeheartedly support your back to basics approach. As to Kitchen Wargamers just being you, I know how you feel. My channel is now just me, so a lot of solo play as well. Keep it up, Mark! We're here to support you and the channel always.

Thank you so much Josh. I do watch your videos on my TV, but it won't let me leave comments. It's a shame we don't live close enough to get together for some games 😁👍

@@kitchenwargamers4141 You're not the first person to say that, about living closer, lol. I appreciate your support!

Yup! We all lose that mojo over the years in the hobby. The plastic will always be there! Get after that Bolt Action! Nice update! Take Care.

Fully understand where you are coming from and 100% it is a hobby not a job. I paint when I feel like it and currently, as real life is busy, just knocking out a Deadman's Hand figure as feel like I have completed something. Rather than just doing one out of 24 Penninsula British figures I need for Sharp Practice :)

Good to see you mate. I totally get the loss of mojo. Too many projects and not enough time can suddenly become overwhelming and being tired from work as well means nothing gets done. Often I have come home drained and the last thing I wanna do is pick up a paintbrush and do something, even for say 10 mins. Take the break you need, go back to basics and come back stronger.

Totally understand mate, you’re doing a hard enough job as it is without the hobby becoming another job. I play and build for far fewer game types than you, but even I have stopped my self from branching into too many theatres of WWII. Trouble is it starts to feel like painting the Fourth Bridge…never ending tasks and no fun at all.
I will be totally sticking with your channel mate, love your solo battle reports and the Bolt Action rules thing you started. We’ll see you in your own time mate when you get your mojo back. 😉
