The work of the project 'Puella Magi Madoka Magica Medley' was initiated at early 2019. After half a year of rehearsal, recording and filming, we finished and uploaded this video! Madoka Magica is an unconventional anime with subtle narrative that impacted on many people. Hope this video could bring up your memory of Madoka Magica! Enjoy.
Perhaps magic and miracle does not exist in the realistic world, but there is the ultimate state of human emotion - more passionate than Hope, far deeper than despair - It is Love.

That's basically the premise of Love Live that contains "Sweets Shop Homura" and "Sakura Sweets Fair", and basically throws a magical girl squad into a slice-of-life setting that's rather magic-free (except for the heavily madoka-ish OVA and a few other scenes) and replaces magic with a force as effective at recruitung and empowering people: Music...

The decade that just has ended (or still is in its final year, depending on your counting philosophy lol) was a pretty intriguing one imho.
I'd describe it as "Love Live under Madoka's umbrella" -totally unbiased of course-
Madoka Magica opened the door to the 2010s. It's even how the anime begins, isn't it. Many others took over the time travelling, the bombastic scenery, the philosophical thoughts... All of that wasn't that new, let's be honest. Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Evangelion, Zelda Majorah's Mask (= the time loops), Haruhi, Code Geass, many others, featured already many of those aspects; however Madoka turned it all up to Eleven...
...maybe except for the Slice of Life elements that were crucial in Sailor Moon, CCS and Haruhi. Like Evangelion, PMMM smushed any tiniest SoL seed before it could start growing, for the chars simply died off too quickly or got trapped.
Love Live, while being overshadowed by Maddy like many contestants, rather trapped the magic and allowed it to show up only every once in a while. The SoL stuff played a bigger role. So they had to catch the audience without bombastic scenereries, but with music, cooking, soap opera drama (at first glance)...
Maddy and those who directly followed into her footsteps like Re:Zero with its new time loop system -and I would have to look up further titles I admit- overshadowed the "smooth and silly afterwork SoL animes" like Love Live. But they turnet that into their advantage and kept growing and growing...
And one of the results is the buddy who could stop smoking. (Along with Zombieland Saga lol, but also have a look at Kimi No Na Wa from 2016, that pretty uniquely combines Madoka, Evangelion, Sailor Moon, and the first Love Live. Whereas the second one might have influenced Darling in the Franxx.)
Meanwhile Maddy Magic came up with a new door opener for the new decade: Magia Record... so did Love Live with Nijigasaki Academy...

It's clear how much work and love was put into this, from the arrangements, to the little details of kyubey figures dotted around and the soul gems on the piano, to the cosplayers and their position on certain instruments, I have immense respect for everyone involved, thank you all for making this
