After many years i finally found this song. My older brother and i were huge rap and hip hop fans we made mixtapes and CDs back in the day among the songs there was this song.
From 2002 to 2008 lowriding was HUGE in my area. This song was on the radio for the whole summer of 2004. Lots of memories of us cruising our lowrider bikes around the park, then hitting the strip with my buddies in their Caddy's, Caprice's and my juiced Monte. It was a better time
This is the Still D.R.E. for La Raza!!! Never forget that Latinos are A PART OF HIP HOP just as much as any ❤ From Los Boriquas Del Southside Bronx!!! To Los Vatos De East L.A.!!! LONG LIVE!!!
Not sure if Lil Rob will respond to this question, but growing up in East LA, you were a legend to the hood. I’m curious why you rep East LA so much in your songs? I’ve always known you’re from San Diego but just curious if you just have a love for East LA? Either way, I’ve always loved your music and continue to listen to this day!
This was my first time hearing this today on tunein's classic hip hop station. Dope song. This would have popped all over the country if the internet was what it is today back in 04.
I love this jam! The ONLY regret I have is I got into Lil Robs music so late. As they say better late than never. 💯 I remember about late 90s/early 2000s there was this BIG trend where there were so many mexican rappers coming onto the scene. I listened to a few but they didnt hit me like Lil Rob did. But back then I hadn't heard Lil Rob yet. The ones I did hear were horrible so I gave up listening to Chicano rap. My mistake! I think if I would have kept listening I would have discovered Lil Rob eventually. I finally did and am a fan for life! I have two favorite rappers....2Pac and Lil Rob. IN MY OPINION LIl Rob is up there with 2Pac. I'm not comparing them am just trying to say that both their music move me and make me happy. When you make music that can do that, its beautiful! ❤

Lil' Rob puts it down for the Brownside of town
[Verse 1: Lil' Rob]
I write rhymes it means something even if it's nothing to you
It means something to me, let me explain something to you
I call it Neighborhood Music and homeboy I breathe it I see it
And speak it, dream it and keep it and share it with you
Unbareable blues some terrible tools to drugs and tattoos
Confused they can't choose our life as a youth
Never liking the rules Back in school more than likely to lose
You fools would like me to lose cuz I'm killing you dudes
Neighborhood themes, living out my childhood dreams
It's not what it seems behind the scenes when everyone leaves
I'm a good man with good intentions though I leave bad impressions
Sit back and listen and don't ask too many questions
Keep fuckin' up and I never learn my lessons
Lettin' out my aggressions at rap sessions is a blessin'
I'm guessin' you've never heard nobody like me
When there's so many people like me neighborhood M-U-S-I-C

[Verse 2: Lil' Rob]
Snap, jump in my cadillac ese, I'll be back ese
Bumper en el suelo, Puffin on a leño
We put grifa in our pipas, we love our jefitas
Homemade tortillas and twelve packs of frias
Oldies in the back drop, playin out the rag-top
The streets are my playground and I'm tearing up the black top
And I can't stop, well I could but I won't stop so I don't stop
I likes to cruise it to Neighborhood Music
Hundred spoke thirteens, gotta be the D's though
Rollin' with my primo to the store to get some pisto
If I could press rewind and turn back time I wouldn't change a thing
Cuz this is me the way we live homie that's what I bring
Neighborhood Music for my neighborhood people
Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil

[Verse 3: Lil' Rob]
Taggin' up on fences, and benches, neighborhood tensions
Maddog expressions, weapons in possesion
Whatever you want I can get it, us homeboys got connections
From the need of weed to the need of needle injections
Nike Cortezes, the man behind the lenses
Reflections of a small town that was known to get down
Party at the park after dark
It don't start until I spark up this joint of mine
I'll pass it, it ain't only mine it's all of ours, we handle ours
And this is all before I had a car and all I had was handle bars
And the words that I spoke wait
And a tape with some raps that I wrote
About my neighborhood, ey
