I find new something... your pin layout is PNP sensor configration.... I tryed a lot of times, i cound not get signal data... because my sensor is NPN type.
So, I tried reverse method... 12V (+) jumped plug in VIN and signal data line pluged Ground.... well done.
and then if someone use ESP32 or ESP8266, it can not get digital data, you will get crazy data up and down..... so i tried analog pin assign. and connected 100k ohm ...
finally i got a correct data... woop!!! almost 24hours i spend..... anyway!!! your video... helpful for me. thanks... but be careful. if you have NPN type sensor...
this video i think just PNP type sensor correct...

finally i get digital data on ESP32 with wifi and mqtt.. becareful if someone use ESP32, i can not protect over electric power. so please consider register ( 100~10K) . this video great for me. thanks again...

thanks your video. I had a problem to connect ESP32 with 12V raser sensor. You gave me a good idea. I was tried read sensor value without optocoupler, it was really hard and spend time too much. but depend on your video, i have a good idea for my project. thanks...

Why you did not use voltage divider? 12 volt black wire output of sensor can be reduced to 5 volt with a 2 resistor like 10K - and 5 K? instead of optocoupler

I have connected 12V between blue and brown wire. And a 1K resistor and red LED connected between BLACK and BLUE wire.
1. output voltage between BLACK and BLUE wire is 4.36 Volt ? how come ? is it correct voltage ?
2. with NO LED and Resistor , voltage between BLACK and BLUE wire is 12 volt ??

no if you use 12 volts, the exit is 12volts , but use INPUT PULLUP

No, optocouplers are for "digital only". For analog reads you will need a voltage divider. Be careful with high AC voltage as it will be exposed to the microcontroller..

Hi, if you still need the answer, I tested with both.
Works better with PNP sensor and the Input port configured as INPUT_PULLUP, otherwise, you will have few mV of difference between logic levels

Jumpers are for disconnect the grounds. It is always better to use with separated grounds, otherwise, it is not true optocoupled

That's the answer I was expecting. In Aliexpress they dont explain in details about it, I just draw the schematic through the images from PCB and I was wondering wtf this Jumper was doing in this optocoupler, it's for another application where you can share both GND but it is not for isolation. Can I use it with NodeMcu ? It's 3.3V and they inform to work just above 3.6v..
