The world's largest mammal migration at Kasanka National Park, Zambia

- Every year, 10 million straw-coloured fruit bats migrate to Kasanka National Park from all over equatorial Africa. The local communities benefit from the revenue generated by ecotourism and direct employment. Currently, illegal clear cutting for industrial agriculture threatens both the livelihoods of the people and the bats.

The Straw Coloured Fruit Bats are exquisite. I have a passion for ALL bats, and each fills a critical role in the ecology of our Mother Earth. I have nothing but disgust for those who destroy habitat in the name of “investment opportunities”. There need to be severe consequences for these people who are driven by greed alone. Thank you for sharing this with us.🖤🇨🇦
Absolutely phenomenal. Thank you for capturing this vital moment, Joey Chapman!!
Incredible
Beautiful work! Wonderful footage, production and message. I’m so happy to know these hardworking, passionate people….help spread the awareness of our beloved bats and the communities that depend on them!
Thank you for bringing awareness to the world about the amazing contribution bats have on the entire world. Urban, rural, or completely wild lands all require the behind-the-scenes “actors” to keep things balanced. I hope there are good people within their govt that will help to enforce the laws established for the national park there. Though investment in some areas is vital for a country to sustain & grow for the people living there, it doesn’t mean that every investor is worthy of doing business with. Those that ignore the importance of maintaining natural lands should not be given an opportunity in the first place. Lack of respect for existing laws, means lack of respect for the country & people as whole.
