I think organists like Matthias are from another planet. Mere earthlings don't play like this. It is astounding to me that anyone can control 2 hands and 2 feet simultaneously, and make unbelievable music come from an instrument! I could listen to him every day, all day!
Bravo! This is my favorite TH-cam performance of this magnificent work. And all by memory! All by heart, from the heart of BACH through your heart and fingers to us! Such a stirring performance. You are one with the music.
Love his playing. Also love the new look, short hair is cool. J.S. Bach would totally approve of this interpretation of his music, and the technique used to perform it. This man is a marvel. My most favorite organist EVER! It is very easy to believe that the soul and spirit of Bach dwells inside this man whenever he plays.
The third part feels like sitting in a time machine - it´s so......... beyond Baroque! Love the uncompromising composition! It´s a g r e a t piece, forever fascinating. Excellent playing! The final cadence perfectly brought to it´s maximum effect.
I love when a player is ONE with his instrument...and that you are Mr...🤗🙏👍👍 You are one with your great organ!! Wonderful to heare and see and listen to! 🙏👍🤗🥰
I think very few people can make justice to this Piece, nb. Gravement, sort of express the right timing, seems to me to be a benchmark-piece on how important it is that the performer actually dive in… when playing
Serious question: It seems like you are using all toe pedaling and generally a non-legato touch in the pedal. So what is the reason for all the crossing of the feet? Wonderful playing of a piece which I personally find very run-on and windy. A great organ and great organist does help the piece.
Alternating the toes is one of the main ways to produce a controlled non-legato touch that gives lots of room for good accentuation and dynamics. Thanks for the compliment!
I love this organists playing and I especially love his rendition of the Gigue' fugue . However, this piece is completely spoiled by the bear like grunts from the pedal which horribly over powers the what should be an extremely light touch of the right hand.
Wonderful just wonderful Bravo thanks for sharing 🙌🏼🙌🏼👍

He is in this music ,completely note by note
Ongelooflijk feilloos gespeeld met een enorme brok aan emotie en gevoel!!
OUTSTANDING! J S B would love this as well as all who hear it!

I have heard this piece played many times, but this is by far the best. The phrasing is exquisite. I am sure JS Bach is clapping his hands in heaven.
I like Dupre's interpretation too it has different timbre I like both ways of playing this fantastic work!
Me pone la piel de gallina. Superior
You are my Bach hero, Matthias. Rock on!

not so keen on the bald hair look, does not look like him ata all.
I must say that I like Karl Richter also....

Sehr schön und alles auswendig. Respekt 👍
Prachtig. En dat orgel: heerlijk. U weet zo te zien blind de weg. Dank voor het delen.

Danny Blind, Demy Blind, Sjaak Blind ....
nee, inderdaad prachtig roel
In a league of his own. I could listen to him play all day.
Fantastic!! best player ever, he plays a fantastic rythme and same time his registration is absolutly super top.
Great stuff and played in a quick and vital tempo. BRAVO Matthias!
Such clarity of articulation! And a well-chosen tempo. Just lovely.
There was absolutely no clarity at all as the piece was completely overpowered by the racket from the pedals

Zie uit naar vervolg !

Magnifique au pédalier entre-autre!
Fantastisch mooie uitvoering, op dit unieke orgel! Maar waar helaas veel te weinig orgelconcerten gegeven worden...!
Beautiful playing.

Opnamekwaliteit kan wat mij betreft wel beter.
6:58 Magistral
Needs a better quality sound recording.
and less racket from the pedals.
Bach...the great man himself, just smiled!
And i think Jaques van Oortmerssen too...

@@MatthiasHavingaOrganist That is true, and many organists still dont accept it :D
Love! Are you using the Cimbel? I love this stop!!!
Yes the Bovenwerk Cimbel in the opening and closing sections
Звучит Вселенная!
Ooft that chord at 6:56...
Pure vervoering.
