- GHOSTS OF MARS BAD MOVIE REVIEW | We could have had Snake Plissken in space, but instead, we end up with Desolation Jones on Mars in what is essentially John Carpenter's goodbye to the studio system. Ice Cube replaces Kurt Russell, throw in Natasha Henstridge and Jason Statham (with hair!) and you've got the makings for a cult classic! But does the movie deserve a second life? Critics and audiences alike haven't been kind to it, so we take our swing to see if Ghosts of Mars is a bad movie that rules! What did you think of Ghosts of Mars? Let us know in the comments!

Bro...long story short...I saw this movie playing at like 1am when I was about 14. I caught the tail end of it but I didn't know the name of it.
dangerously underrated film, should be an absolute classic.. first time I ever had decapitation nightmares

I agree with Ryan, bad movie that rules. I love the music and the stunts like he said. I also think the movie could have been way better, but what we got was entertaining. I watched this while filling out my Statham-ography. Only have a couple movies left to have seen all of his movies. Also Mass Effect 2 is the greatest video game of all time!

Love that Mass Effect was mentioned in this. Yall should review the trilogy like a movie but that might be hard.

I think one of the main reasons for the poor reception of Ghosts of Mars is, the movie is one major exposition dump, where the events of the film is told in flashbacks, guys.
I don't understand why Americans think we Canadians talk like Minnesotans, or that we all love going out to Tim Horton's, or put Maple Syrup on all of our food, and we love hockey. I hate Tim Horton's and hockey, I don't care at all for Maple Syrup and I sure as hell don't talk like somebody from Minnesota! Sorry. I had to get that off my chest.
Joanna Cassidy was also the Replicant stripper from Blade Runner, by the way.
What about, Dark Star, guys? Where does it sit in the Carpenter filmography? Or, Christine, for that matter?

100% agree that this is a bad movie, what sucks is, there's a good movie or even TV series hidden deep inside here. The proper effort and budget and this could be a great horror/ western property.
