I love toasted cheese sandwich! I use ham inside and spread some hot taco sauce on the bread before adding the cheese. I feel I don’t need butter as the cheese is very fatty. I prefer using a sandwich toaster as it takes 2 minutes.
What was that you put on the bread? That wasn't cheese. Actually by law the producer is only required to use fifty percent cheese, sooooo don't eat it Billy! It's a trick. Use parchment paper, less mess.
