Emily & Matthew Wedding, QVB, Sydney

Emily and Matthew had flown in from Canada to to have their wedding shot in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney, having the city landscape as their backdrop to be a memorable moment for them. February 9th 2020 would have other ideas...
Sydney had been in much of a drought for years and on Sunday it unleashed 176mm of rain in 24 hours causing flash flooding and destruction, but the Aussie & Canadian way didn't let that spoil the brigade.
10am that morning we threw the run-sheet in the bin and decided to reverse the wedding, shoot a first look and key shots first then get married in the reception hall.
I can honestly say this was my favourite wedding of all time. They were such troopers, everyone was without a doubt the most delightful easy going group of people i've met, and I thank them for putting them through the paces to get the shots.
Wasn't without a hitch, my partner (photographing) Canon 50mm 1.2 stopped autofocusing, my Nikon Z6 randomly focused for the rest of the night, so i was on manual and my partner's Canon EOS 5D mK2 fogged up. Upon finishing at 11pm at night we hit the grocery store for some dehumidifiers and placed the gear in a bag, and YAY, everything is working.
