I like the game but the review is fair, apart from basing your expectations on a different game and being negative about it because it isn't that game that you like, thats not fair
Am I the only one who enjoys is? I like the power level of everything and it makes farm everything and yess it takes time but if you don’t like grinding then don’t play Grindy games everyone is just used to pay to win
I have thoroughly enjoyed this game but idk why people say it's grindy. My first playthrough of the game on hard mode took me 20 hours to beat (no dlc) but that's only because I took my time and got every piece of armour andddd sold alot of stuff just for the fun of it. I thoroughly love being the shopkeeper and I love how indepth it is. Also dungeon gameplay is fun af, not the hardest thing in the world but can still be a decent challenge
Have you ever heard of rouge lite? Do you really think starting every time from zero meeting same enemy and feeling only skill progression is so much better than this kind of a game where you can both upgrade your weapon but also get better at the game?
This was really comprehensive and helpful, thank you! It seems that the DLC has all the elements I was afraid it might have, and the few things I was curious about seem very lackluster. At the beginning, when you said "If you've never played that game... basically... your father abandoned you...." I almost snorted coffee out of my nose.
Lets be honest here, Yes it's bad and good. If you want a game that would satisfy both dungeonering and recetear. we would need to make a game for both. The only question is, can you do such a thing?
So you didn't play a +mode before making this video, i have the strongest sword that does about 12k damage, idk if it will be weakened in the new dungeon, but the game is still hard even by using items built in normal mode, even after upgrading them to max level, once you play it on hard difficulty.
Could not agree more, and it's not as if there'a pay-off for the grind, there's little-to-nothing for all your time and effort. The grind is merely to hide the lack of content in the game. Content they're now going to try and sell to you as DLC, haha!
If you have more money than sense, yes! If you wish to spend 200 hours grinding for nothing, yes! If you hate yourself, yes! Otherwise don't bother sir, you'll regret it within the hour.
Its a good game, I enjoyed it even though I see where everyone is coming from. It can feel grindy but let's be real, in a game like this you know what you are getting into. The concept of shopkeeping brings a refreshing perspective to the dungeon crawling genre, it's very fun. After that thought, I would wait for a sale and buy it with the dlc.
@@Grumpy-Bollocks ot takes like 8 hours to beat the game in hard mode, a little less in regular mode, I don't see how you're gonna grind sooo much to get the better gear. I see people with weak items trying to play in the new dungeon, idk if I'm wrong, but you're not supposed to play an expansion with weaker items.
Jesus, I've seen polygon put out better reviews, do yourself a favor and either learn how to write a proper review or don't write them at all, comparing a game to a game you had played prior and basing your dislike off of the fact that the game isn't that game of which it never claimed to be is just plain childish
I honestly don’t understand people saying this game was “super grindy” or whatever. I played a dungeon maybe 3-4 times in total and beat all the bosses on the first try. First time doing a dungeon I’d get enough to upgrade one or two pieces of armor. Second time I got enough to upgrade the rest. By the third of fourth time I was learning patterns and not even getting hit on first floor of all dungeons. If you’re getting hit by monsters after meeting them over and over again. You’re not good at the game and that’s your own fault. (After watching your gameplay. I can see that it is your fault. You dodge nothing and walk into everything) I enjoyed learning the prices of items on the shop and running around to change prices to finally get it right after changing it from too low or too high. Also should never compare a game to another game in a review. Example: I love persona games, but should all jrpgs be like persona? No.
Im not a gamer, never have been, i played abit of serious sam 2, cs condition zero when i was like 12 and a shit ton or civ VI when i was 17. Got the switch 2 years ago and have been "gaming" on and off since, got moonlighter a year ago i think, and i just hit the 5th dungeon, pulled the trigger on got the dlc yesterday bcs of the sale. Not a bad game coming from one fussy fuck
These Devs earned my disrespect. They could have fixed/expanded their small main game, instead they chose to work on DLC for the cash grab, their game had such promise and could have been really good if they continued to support it, as it stands it's an utter grind-fest that I had to stop playing because of all the damn bugs. Greedy developers prey on gamers, don't support them.

Agreed. Over time I’ve come back to it as it has become my most chill game to play late at night in bed

I bought it yesterday... It's fun.

You didn't get it the game at all. You are basing your opinion in comparison with another game. That's just a totally wrong way to review anything.

I also was excited to play this game. Ultimately it is overly grindy and I found the shop aspect very unsatisfying.

Great review thanks for saving me a few bucks :)

Is this your main save? Those weapons are weak asf and you have like 3 pets and 1 ring

Nice spoilers though... you could atleast warn.
Cringe review I immediately stop watching

I totally agree. They only make u spend more money and time to make the game feel bigger then it is. Many indie games do that.
