Pam Sync DAW Plugin - Setup Process

- Pam Sync is a FREE simple ‘just works’ DAW plugin for syncing Pam to your DAWs clock via low latency audio signals. It uses 2 audio (i.e. stereo) channels to provide a ‘DIN sync’ type signal consisting of a clock and a run signal to be patched into the Pam’s ‘Clk’ and ‘Run’ inputs. Once connected Pam will stop and start with your DAW and match the tempo.
Here we take a look at the simple setup process using Ableton Live and an SSL 12 audio interface. The plugin should work with any DAW that supports VST or Audio Units. See the README.txt in the download for more setup documentation.
Take note that Pam Sync will only work with a ‘DC-Coupled’ audio interface. Check your audio interface’s documentation to determine if it includes AC or DC coupled outputs.
Pam Sync is available now as a free download for both Windows and Mac. Get it here:

This saves me from having to use an unnecessarily complicated vcv rack routing just get to get my eurorack playing nicely with logic. Thank you! Instantly essential!
This tool comes in handy when you don't have or don't want to set up Max for Live Clock Out. I found myself puzzled for a while (admittedly my fault) when I integrated Pam Sync into my Ableton template along with numerous other settings and then forgot about it. Later, when I returned to the template and routed audio from my Apollo 3/4 to my modular setup to process samples/plugins from my DAW, I encountered a persistent buzzing noise resembling the bass tone of an oscillator. Initially, I suspected a complex routing issue with the UAD Console. However, I eventually discovered that the Pamela Sync channel was also outputting that noise to another channel in Ableton, which I was using to process audio in my modular setup.
I needed a new interface. Perfect selling point for me. SSL 12 should work great with my SSL Six.
cute little background song
Amazing. What is the benefit of using this over CV Clock in Ableton Live?
Thank you for this! ❤🎉
Wonderful news!
this made my morning.
You're doing the Lord's work.
Huh? Far from it
You're demonstrating this in Ableton Suite, but it seems like it's kinda just the included CV Tools Clock Out with less features? Am I missing something?
I guess that’s what it is :)
The CV Tools clock out is a much more general clocking tool which can take a little configuration to get a standard DIN Sync clock out. Pam sync is intended purely for syncing and thus takes a more simple 'just works' approach as well as working in other DAWs.
CV Tools doesn’t have Pam grooving and clicking her fingers to the beat.
This is dope. Will it work with Pam's NEW or just PRO?
Any Pam - PRO, NEW and even original.
Thats soo good! thanks!@@busycircuits
love it
Omg wow finally!
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE ! ! !
Does this compare with Expert Sleeper's USAMO? Is it virtually doing the same job in terms of syncing the DAW's clock?
Assuming the interface has to have DC coupled outs, correct?
Description says yes, I was wondering as well.
@@BeniRoseMusic missed that, thanks!
Try it without, might still work with output high and turning up the gain in your audio interface - I’ve made a working clock sync before out of just a loud impulse using operator and boosting it a LOT.
Yes!
I'm trying to use the plug in with the Arturia Audiofuse 16 rig and Logic.
I do the same as in the video:
put Pam Sync on a stereo midi track
Outputs to 7 and 8 which are DC coupled.
I can see the signal on my outputs.
Pam is set up right so run get's run, clock get's clock and 24 ppqn.
What Am I doing wrong ?

One question: Pam's clock starts and stops when I play and stop Ableton with just the "Clock" input, so why is the "run" input needed? Thanks!
Run enabled Pam to 'pre sync' to the clock and not 'guess' when the external clock has gone away.
@@busycircuits Thanks!🙏
Thank you!
Does this work with the native instruments komplete audio 6, its dc coupled but only four volts, is that sufficient?
Should be fine.
Just installed the plugin on two Mac machines and it is not working. VST3 is not even installed, just a broken AUv2 plugin. : / I am still on Mojave OS, could that be the reason??
Most probably, Mojave pretty old now. Try with at least Monterey.
@@busycircuits had the same issue - ffs dno if i want to update a 10 year old mac it always breaks shittt.
can we do this on the pamela's new workout?
Yep and even the original Pams.
Will this work with a focusrite Scarlett?
No, you need a DC coupled interface. See support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360010728220-Do-Focusrite-interfaces-have-DC-Coupled-outputs-
My name jeff
nobody will dance to this in their right mind :)
I typically dance when I’m out of my mind.
