    i hadthe unplanned pleasure of meeting julian at his liegion of honor show in san francisco a few years ago. he wasso nice and generous with his time.

    He paints these kind of paintings because he's not capable of painting with good quality. He has no talent.

      Yes, you are absolutely correct. He has zero draftsmanship, and zero painting technique. He truly has no talent.

      You understand why he can't produce an interesting painting when you hear him talking about art. Just a bear of very little brain, I fear.

      His output varies a great deal, some are good, some are really bad - in fact I think his movies are better than his paintings.
      But he sure knows how to talk!

    I kept up with this amazing discourse until he said, 'it was a palimpsest'...stop, hit the brakes...it's rare that I am totally unfamiliar with a word and this I never heard of...a manuscript or artifact that was also reused as something else...wow
