Great job Whitney! I’ll be rooting you on this winter when you are able to clear out that space the fern path leads to. It will be much easier to do in the winter and safer (as far as spiders, snakes, etc). I have a couple of Godzilla ferns, 2 Japanese painted ferns and 2 autumn brilliance ferns.. and a few transplants of an unknown variety fern that grows in my yard and the neighbors on either side of me having it growing in their back yards as well… but I would love some ostrich ferns.. those get pretty big and tall from the pictures I’ve seen of them. I also have two other ferns still in their small 4 inch nursery cans I got on sale a few weeks back.. but I can’t remember which variety at this moment! I’m undecided as to where I want to plant them exactly. However, time ⏰ is ticking… 🍁 🍃 🌾 🎃 I need to decide and get them in the ground! Oh! I almost forgot.. I planted an At Last rose, an Italian Ice rose and a Coral Reminiscent rose 3 days ago. Kind of in an arch or swoop in front of the moon glow juniper I planted. I think the colors will complement each other. Ok, have a good week! Look forward to the next video! 😊♥️
I love ferns! I have a lot of Ostrich ferns and a lot of area to cover so don’t mind their aggressiveness, just keep moving them out to new areas. Great pathway❤️
Hi Whitney. What I did in my garden was plant drifts of autumn brilliance ferns & alternate with bright big chartreuse colored hostas. It draws lots of color & texture. Also the Autumn brilliance is an evergreen in my zone 7b. So they stay green all winter. I cut them hard in Spring when they look tattered after the winter. They sprout bk even bigger after being cut with their bright rustic reddish gold fronds. It’s breathtaking.
Godzilla ferns😍 I'd love to get my hands on some of those. I pick up 2 Touch of Class roses from Lowe's. I'm planning on getting them in the ground soon. I also have quite a few shrubs and perennials that I need to get in the ground but I also planted last year in the winter time, which was fine as long as the ground isn't frozen.
Godzilla ferns?🤔 I think I would love to get some of those... I also have a ton of perennials and shrubs that I need to get in the ground... I just picked up two Touch of Class roses from Lowe's they are beautiful and smell amazing. Hoping on getting them in the ground this weekend along with quite a few other plants. I planted in the winter last year as well, it's okay as long as the ground isn't frozen, everything turned out fine. I'm sure I'll be doing it this year too LOL
Nice carnage shot at 21:28! Fern path is a great idea. Cinnamon fren is another tall one that doesn't spread as aggressively as Ostrich ferns. If you see them around.... And be careful of the PI!
Yeah I actually do have a couple of cinnamon ferns as well, I got some from my mom and dad's property. I would love for the Ostrich Ferns to spread aggressively though LOL and I had to go in the house a couple of times to wash my hands as a precaution. Since I had it on my face that time I try to be extra careful
@@ericjorgensen8028 yes, I wonder about using the cloth gloves for weeding...if the oil will just seep through🤷🏾♀️ luckily I am Poison Ivy free as of today LOL
Get you a squirt bottle white white vinegar keep it with you on the garden spray areas on body with it will prevent from getting it. Absolutely love the ferns it's gonna be fabulous when they get some growth. You can call that part of the garden the enchanted forest ✨ also for the pathway you could use flat stepping stones n lay them amongst the moss just an idea. God bless🙏🏼❣️
All great ideas! The enchanted forest 🤔 l like it! Not sure if I can make that area look Enchanted enough LOL... it would have to live up to the name 😆
So beautiful. Whitney. my Japanese Painted Ferns are in a shaded area, but they don't seem to be growing, it's like they are shrinking. I have watered them. So what am I doing wrong? I know they don't like too much sun right?
My Godzilla ferns have done the same thing! The tag says they are supposed to be these big size - hence the name but they are kind of lanky & spindly looking…. 🤷🏼♀️🤔 I’m not sure exactly what Is happening with them. They are planted in my shade garden and get some dappled morning sun but nothing dramatic.
I grow several Japanese painted ferns. They love full shade & well draining soil. Meaning they like water but not wet sitting water. Make sure to fertilize every Spring or provide nice rich compost & they will thrive. Think of a woodland area where they naturally grow. If they are not growing means they are unhappy.
@@sammysworld5485 thank you! I think I have the first two things you mention down, water & well draining but I don’t think I fertilized them this year and I know I did not Give them any compost. I’ll be sure to fix that! I appreciate the advice! 😊🙏🏼
🤔 could be... and yes☺️ I remember you mentioned the hula hoe before... maybe in the winter time when I'm unable to buy more plants i'll start buying the tools I need LOL
Love the fern pathway ❤.
Thank you ❤☺️
I love Everything...❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
So elegant! Ferns make a garden look ethereal; love it!
Thank you ❤

Oh I bet that's gorgeous... Im 7b as well. I will pay attention this year to see if they are evergreen ❤

@@creatingyourgarden just getting over PI on both arms. Thankfully it was not so bad this time. Always pays to wash off the oil!

your unidentified fern looks like tassel fern (Polystichum polyblepharum )
I think you right! I just looked it up. Thank you❤ I got it from home depot. Wish they did a better job of labeling their plants

The same happened to my painted ferns. The autumn ferns are doing just fine
@brendagoode4016 ok. Yesterday I took them out of the ground & put them in pots and will give them some morning sun. Hopefully, they will thrive.

I think the fern you couldn’t identify is a crested fern.
Also, get yourself a hula hoe for weeding-you will save time and your knees!
