I just discovered this just a few days ago on a short video 5 April 2023. Didn't see any videos until the reactions. My first thought was line dancing in a country club. The music might fit. But definitely flash mob. I'm an old fart and I like it. I'm the kind of guy that likes Jim Reeves, Nat King Cole, Burl Ives, Alanis Morissette, Adele, Jewel, Christine McVie, Billy Idol, Everly Brothers, Bellamy brothers, well I guess you get the drift! If it sounds good I'll listen to it and then hunt it down and listen to it some more. I hope you're really enjoyed this song I did and the video thank you for this bye.
I think the video visuals highlight what it means to be an outsider. During our teens there is considerable tension between growing into our individuality and autonomy and fitting in with current trends and being "cool." When we are brave enough to develop the qualities that make us unique despite the ridicule of those who value fitting in more, our creativity can contribute something special to the world (like the contortionists in the video, who lean into the "alien" flavour of their work and produce something amazing to watch and be uplifted by). The lyrics are a song of exultation and also a kind of encouragement to be brave enough to be your own self because that is the path to success, inside and outside. That's always been my take on this track anyway.
Hi Cash, hope you're doing well! My first thought was that they seem to be the cast from Ep 1 of the Star Wars saga, but then computer says Imagine Dragons come from Las Vegas (so they would just blend right in with everyone else from Area 51). The video was made in Dubai and the dancers were indeed meant to be extra-terrestrials. I think the song is about feelings of alienation, and seems to be written from the point of view of someone getting into trouble at school for being different, and the 'thunder' was what was going on inside his head as a result. In my generation it was The Breakfast Club and Saturday detention, but in this day and age alienation has to mean you're ET and living in Dubai! I would say half a glass for me on this one. Cheers!
I liked the song - it was simple and had a catchy refrain. Nice audio effects as well, which added to the listening experience. Although I've never heard the song before and never heard of the artist/band before, I thought the song had a good sound, good vocals and good recording techniques. The video was a different animal altogether ! I honestly had no idea what the video was about, I could gather no storyline, and some of the imagery was a bit scary to me. Perhaps the video was about imagery itself, or perhaps the intent was to create within an abstract context only. I did like the black and white, same as you, Cash. Thanks for another nice reaction, and looking forward to the next one. I like your reactions, Cash 😊👍
Hello again, Cash, good to see you reacting to a video. I usually don't listen to this band, but this one was decent. .... I haven't seen one of your live streams in a while, so, can I ask a little favor? Newt time you do one, will you read the comments yourself? The reason is because, the person who you had reading them to you last time kept on messing up and making it very frustrating. So, if you can, please read them yourself. ... I hope you are having a good new year. Cheers from northeast Ohio. :)
Of course...the last time, for some reason, the comments were not visible on my monitor....technical issues are always abundant so we have to punt at times....I do understand tho!!! 🍷🍷🍷
@@WineNotReactions , thanks for your response. :) Hopefully the visibility issues will be okay. ... By the way, sorry the Cowboys lost, but at least they made the playoffs. My Browns didn't make it into the playoffs. ... Have a good week!
