The other problem is that I’d argue wordles design is actually pushing the point of the game towards guessing in the smallest number of attempts, not just guessing it. That’s why you get your graph of results and have it displayed so prominently, because otherwise it would just give you your success and fail numbers.
completely agree. these strategies just make the game boring if there's a method you can do each time and always get the correct answer on the 5th or 6th go. Doesn't really matter if you get the word or not, it should be about how many attempts you made to get there
People can find differing fun in the same task or sometimes no fun at all. Some people will be looking for those 1/2/3 guesses on wordle, some just don't want to fail and will do what it takes not to, and others will hate the game.
Cool video, but I actually like solving puzzles. It's fun to come up with shortcuts but it gets boring after a while to just keep doing the same thing over and over again.
That's valid! This kind of strategizing is more relevant for those who are speedrunning Wordle, where spending too much time thinking is wasteful. It's a different kind of challenge!
Yeah. This strategy is actually useless to most people because most people try to get it in the least amount of guesses possible and this strategy isn't very good for that
DEUCE, perhaps? Also, even as a person who's played wordle for longer than most and more than most, you still managed to keep me interested so good job. Even if wordle dies like all trends do, I hope you'll be able to keep making interesting vids like this.
Apparently there's another word; EDUCE But that's not a possible Wordle answer. It never appears in the 6 year long list of answers, unlike Deuce (Feb 5, 2027)
I'm personally not a fan of either of these strategies. My goal is always to have as few guesses as possible. It's much more rewarding, though it's also quite time consuming if you try to be as optimal as possible (my average is 3.8, takes about half an hour to solve a wordle sometimes).

I use these words SALET and ROUND normally that gets the word but is not I do WIMPY and even if you can’t get it after that do something like batch or botch to get c, h, and b and do batch or botch to check spots for whatever vowel you have.
I use a 3 word starter and have solved 114/114 puzzles. The only place I've failed is with a wordle clone named WordMaster which has a bigger answer list that includes plurals. The death configuration is _A_ES or _O_ES which have a ridiculous number of possibilities. Wordle doesn't have those words as possible solutions.
I did a duotrigordle and the pattern was a_ion. It could be avion, axion, or anion. But the problem is that you have only 37 guesses to solve 32 words.
On another note: It’s important to remember what words were already used in the game so far. If you guess a word that has already been used, you are probably wasting it. For your strategy’s “edge cases,” the first one: CATCH, HATCH, and WATCH (2:28): * CATCH was used on October 15, 2022 * HATCH was used on October 10, 2021 * WATCH was used on March 11, 2022 …you’ll never see this pattern again unless they start recycling words. For the second one (CORER, COVER, COWER, 2:56): * COWER was used on July 8, 2023 * COVER on June 18, 2024 …so the only possible answer you should use in this situation is CORER. And finally, the third situation (JAUNT, TAUNT, VAUNT, 3:03): * JAUNT was used on October 20, 2021 * TAUNT on September 6, 2022 …so VAUNT would be the best pick.
I guess DEUCE for the last puzzle. Btw, i'm using these 4 starter words: AMPLY, KIGHT, VENUS, CROWD. Works well, and even when i am facing the Duotrigordle.

I do use this strategy, but with different words. I use: ADIEU, ROCKY, WHIMS, FLUNG, and BLITZ, which has worked, but most of the time, I just start with first two, see if I can solve it, and whip out one of the other three if I can't come up with something.
I looked at a hypothetical variation of Octordle where you would not gain information from correct guesses (I don't think it's coded anywhere so I didn't really get to play it). Looking at dorky chimp beat flung, I found that because you wouldn't be able to guess every possible 5th word, about 1.5-2% of the possible boards would not be won when using this strategy without mistakes. Which was so disappointingly low of a failure rate that I tacked on another rule and said "if you guess a letter only once, it's blue and you don't know whether the position is right. Guess it a second time to turn it yellow or green". And that's where i stopped looking cause i'm not good at coding. I started using sitar clone though
Another thing is as you see in the case where the word was catch, you could've easily deduced that podgy was unnecessary.
