The bottom line is this; if you're going to beat a powerhouse team like Oklahoma, you have got to score runs and play stellar defense. The Lady Gators did both in this game, and they came away with a well-deserved win. Let's see if they can repeat this performance tomorrow when a chance to go to the championship series is on the line.

Pass, OU needs to defend their champion status and natties. A Florida vs Texas matchup automatically means Texas wins the natty, Florida won't win. At this point it's either Texas or OU wins the championship, and neither side wants to see the other win it.
I don’t like Florida ou much better they just had a slump and my coach played for ou and now my coach is the director for Oklahoma sparks and she was saying everyone has a slump it’s literally not a huge deal about ou losing like….come on now

It takes the fun and adrenaline out of watching the WCWS when you know every single year OU is going to win. Not saying they don't deserve to win! They're a great team! Kind of okay with OU getting humbled. I’m not saying I can’t Stand them, I just want to see them and their fan base calm down and understand that humbleness is a real thing. Also throwing your bat down after a walk is about as dumb as it gets when it comes to taking a bat.

Well... OU bats against good pitching came back - with a vengence. Only 3 runs. OU pitching came up average to poor. Wise to save Maxwell for the must-win game. Yes, all good things must come to an end,... but we can still hope: "not yet!"

So stoked my Sooners are headed back to the ship. But damn Florida took us to the brink and they played their butts off. And it makes me laugh how many people are so butt hurt about OU. In the end OU wins and the shorthorns are next and the Four-Peat is still on deck.
Tough loss but we will recover. Tomorrow will be a different result. Hats off to Florida as they definitely came to play and once the hits started falling, they really came alive. I think we were overconfident after Texas pounded the Gators so bad and we own Texas. Hopefully we aren’t another one pitcher team.

I’d have so much respect for Oklahoma if they were just so nasty. Throwing bats down when walked and screaming. The dirty looks by their coach and having no grace. They just aren’t nice or humble at all! But let me tell you Texas beat the gators like it was nothing. Oklahoma knew they had to get Maxwell to succeed. But I think if Oklahoma loses this year (lord I hope), it just shows that when you chase for a championship ring sometimes going to the top team isn’t the right move. Maxwell to me did what Kevin Durant did by if you can’t beat them join them mentality and to me that is a loser. The underdog is the winner 🏆

It's very similar, yes, but the differences in distance and pace make it such that you cannot use the same strategies or fundamentals in one as you would the other or you'll fail miserably. And also, a pretty important distinction in softball: by rule, you HAVE to throw underhanded. Otherwise it's an illegal pitch.
