    It’s incredible how such impressive engineering and ingenuity can be totally destroyed by incredible incompetence.

    It's been theorized that if Titanic had rammed the berg head on, it would have caused much less damage & would have remained afloat long enough for all to be rescued.
    Another 'what if.'

    Fact: The nearest ship, SS Californian, had to warn the Titanic that of the icebergs in the Atlantic. The Titanic was communicating with the mainland, but the Californian however, interrupted the ship's conversation, but the Titanic said to the Californian, "shut up, shut up!" And so by this time, the Californian did not rescue the survivors from the Titanic.

    • @jakemiles1427
      @jakemiles1427 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually the way I understood it is that the ss California misunderstood the distress call of the Titanic's flares because they weren't firing them in the correct intervals. This lead to regulations so that distress flares would be color coded

    it always baffled me that well the ship was announced to be this unsinkable ship like thats what its whole deal was to be big and unsinkable but we know how that went down was is this just all from human error for her down fall. You would think the crew and captain would be working overtime especially if there was no moon and pitch black out. Just would love to see a world where the titanic made its trip back.

    3:46 that is titanic. Not Olympic

    • @Matthew10forever
      @Matthew10forever 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wrong my friend.. Most of the film in the beginning is Olympic, but this wasn't Titanic. Hawke smashed into Olympic indeed.. For example: 2:46 is Olympic, and why? The 2 smaller tugs, the number of the boat is covered, because it's from Olympic's arrival in New York.. Most of the footage is from Olympic, because she was the first in the class. Very few images/film exists from Titanic.
