I have had the privilege of listening to Kirsty Abbotts playing the cornet in person and could not stop crying it was so beautiful. Such a talented young lady.
I have an audio recording of Kirsty herself playing it with the Swiss Youth Brassband. There is a bit of noise as my phone was on the floor but the quality is very good.
What a gorgeous sound Kirsty produces. Perfection.

Just fantastic :) sound is perfect!!!
The cornet sound does not come more pure than this
Having listened to other bands tackle this piece, I think Carlton Main exceeds them all in confidence, polish and finesse of touch.
Beautiful
lovely
Fantastic playing !!
How could anyone dislike this
They're jealous of how good she is
They are tone deaf
Old Bobby
Right ! Agree
My TH-cam rule is ignore anything below 2-3% dislikes.. that is the standard troll signature, and has no relevance to the video content.
Totes!
If I closed my eyes I would swear this was Philip McCann playing at his very best bravo.
You've a good ear. Philip McCann was Kirsty's tutor so their shared lyrical style of playing is to be expected.
Wow
Anyone know where I can get a copy of this in NZ please?
Has anyone got a video or recording of threnody? I’ve been told it’s a fantastic piece but can’t find it.
